Not negotiating during the season to me opens up Pandora's box. Parise may have every intention of going back to NJ until someone throws him some ludicrous amount of money that NJ can't/won't match. - Pierceme69
im pretty sure lou will do whatever it takes to get parise to sign, im not worried about it at all |

devils lost due to a clueless coach, not due to kovalchuk
there are some things lou should do differently but all the players really appreciate Lou and his ways especially when it comes to players issues such as contracts, they know he is a very loyal person and takes care of his players, Lou has gone out of his way to assist players, ex players, ex coaches and employees, i doubt parise makes it to UFA - dmarsden2988
I wasn't saying they missed because of Kovalchuk, so if that's how it came across, I apologize. Just saying it was kind of funny.
Lou has his way of doing things. Some people respect him for it. But for other guys, they may not like it. He is very firm about things and that can rub some guys the wrong way. If that's the case though, then they probably aren't the best fit for the organization overall. |

I would imagine that will be the 1st item that Lou tries to get taken care of at seasons end (whenever that may be for NJ). It probably is the "offseason" move that most people will be watching for. |

Just to let you know from a personal perspective. One of my friends played for the Devils and he and his family at first had a great amount of respect for Lou, until he was less than forthright with them. |

lou has a pretty good track record so i dont think he rubs people the wrong way which is a good sign, players always seem to end up coming back to us, so if it was bad they wouldnt want to come back
its sad that we got a "discount" for rolston for 5mill, he said that was one of the lower offers he had on the table
the players that have left the devils all seem to have their careers go south *gomez
Lou has the respect from all of the players, and they have all said that they appreciate his old school ways and how he looks out for the team and not worried about the whole media craze with twitter and stuff
it is what it is, but so far his style hasnt hurt him or the team |

Gionta seems to have done fine since leaving. I know he's been hurt this year, but he's had pretty solid numbers. Other than him and Gomez, those are really the only 2 I can think of off the top of my head that left. Scratch that, Niedermayer's career was just fine after leaving NJ. He did win another Cup and all.

neids left to play with his brother, he was offered a max contract but he wanted to play with his brother, Lou tried to make a trade for Rob but the ducks wanted way too much
rafalski also left, wanted to play for his hometown team, which he did after he won cups with us |

Honestly, I don't think Toronto would even be in the running. I just have a feeling that's not somewhere Parise would want to play. I have no real reason for thinking that, other than it's just a gut feeling. |

I'd like to ask a serious question if I may?
I understand they have played a ton of games lately and once again they were playing back to backers against a team that had not in Boston.
This game was a mirror image of the Winnipeg game the other night. Hang in there till the 3rd period and then in effect watch Lindy employ what is the equivalent to an NFL's prevent you from winning defense. This team does not produce enough quality scoring chances as it is , then it looks like Lindy tells his team dont even bother to forecheck the offensive zone. Lets play for the point .
I know they were tired but Lindy and his system or philosophy looked bad last night, really bad.
Lets be honest , many marginal offensive players this organization has seen come through here has very seldom flourished here. In fact the opposite normally is true.
Lindy for me has worn out his welcome here. He refuses to create a system that is beneficial to the talent at hand, its his way or no way or in this case, probably no playoffs.
I would love to see Lindy's contract bought out and for Terry to get a fresh mind in behind that Sabres bench but I think we all know all that is a longshot at best.
One word best describes watching this team the other night in Winnipeg and Boston last night = frustration ! You can see that the chains were taken off the players once we fell behind in that game last night because the opportunities started flowing. |
