Do we trust Snow to draft or trade?
- ses111

I would say trade if you get Bobby Ryan...

No way Snow can pull off a Ryan trade.

Nothing surprises me in this country these days, can't wait for the coming election. I'll stop there!

It's sad to me an ex Islander with no ties to this team cannot bother to come out and rip Wang and Snow.

Your team just lost 5-1 to the New Jersey Devils!!! The guy is actually starting to grow on me, just for his sheer comedic value. Between his hair and stupidity its pretty funny

They just wipe their hands with it and wait unless it involves them getting paid in some way. Sad but true...

It's amazing JT has not had a meltdown yet. One day soon he is going to blow and tell Wang and Snow where to go if this does not turn around quick.

Agreed, I will say by next season. I know alot of Snow birds won't agree with me on here. The kid is way too much of a competitor to play with this t=current team, some may say thats why he'll stick around but I think thats exactly why he won't. Why play where the owner, manager, and coach so obviously don't give a shat?

No he isn't. Everyone get off the ledge. It's not nearly as bad as you're making it out to be. Rebuilds take a long time. What team in the NHL using our model turned it around quickly? Edmonton? Colorado? Toronto? Tampa? Columbus?

All missing the playoffs.

Tampa had a good run last year but have worse defense and goaltending then us right now.

This takes time. It hasn't been four seasons yet. Making a trade for a veteran while sending away youth doesn't make sense now. Team isn't going anywhere.

What about stamkos in Tampa? He inherited two great players but they are on the downside of their career and unless yzerman pulls off a miracle, they will miss playoffs next year too.

Your right this team is not going anywhere. This is not a rebuild. A rebuild should include some useful vets to help the kids along. A rebuild should include at least one meanigful trade. A rebuild should include a good coach. You cannot keep every prospect and pick. You have to trade some especially when you cannot sign big time FA's. There is no Crosby type player in the system we should be afraid to trade.

You are right. I doesn't make sense now. Its yet another lost season where there was supposed to be growth, playoffs, etc... What about before the season was lost, you don't think it was a good time to make a trade to improve your team? Perhaps a trade of a player not producing to send a message. Mybe a veteran or four who absolutley suck? Maybe a coach who evidently is not a capable one? Anything to send a message that the manager wasn't going to settle for losing? Tampa made it to the second round, we would be (frank)ing organizing a parade on Hempstead Turnpike if that happened. Toronto is not using the same "plan" we are. Comparing us to Columbus is just admitting that our GM is inept. Accorind to our GM we were supposed to be an NHL powerhouse by year five. Do you honestly believe that? Compete for the Stanley Cup. Actually compete, not MAYBE squeak in and get toasted actually compete. Can you honestly say that this team even has a shot of doing that?

I'm not trying to be rude but are you kidding me? Playing with Marty St louis and Lecavalier? Playing in an environment where the GM made trades and moves to improve the team? Playing in the second round of the playoffs? Not the whole orginization folding by xmas and saying "theres always next year!"! Gimme a break

You hit it right on the head by saying this team isn't going anywhere, what makes next year any different? What has Snow done to make you think he is going to improve this team next year? Honest question

Good thing we held onto Nabokov for our "playoff push" instead of trading him when he was playing out of his head and increasing his value. No more news about contract discussions, and he's .864 in his last 5 starts.

Where were the st. Louis blues a year ago. Do you think they at least have a shot to win west? What big impact trades did they make? They did what I think the isles need to do and I've said it since Gordon got canned. Hire a legit coach. Andy Murray, Michelle therrian. See what happens with that, and a top four d man that can score.
