I mean the 4 call ups after the TDL rule. If a team has the room, they should be able to make as many recalls as they want. Say you have a team like Montreal, they might want to see what some of the kids in Hamilton can do. Why limit them to 4 recalls?
- Jsaquella

I think it's done to keep teams from depleting their AHL teams. Would be unfair to that league, their teams and their fans. It's part of a working relationship.

It might be to protect against teams who are out of contention benching vets en masse to bring up a slew of kids, which might not only impact draft position, but also affect free-agency prospects of said vets.

The game against Nashville (Flyers 4-1 win) Harry Z was late getting back that lead to a 2-1 goal by Suter. Z didn't see the ice again that night IIRC.
- PLindbergh31

it was his lousy pass that led to the odd man rush and a goal to make it 3-1

MANNING COMES TO PHILADELPHIA: The Flyers have recalled defenseman Brandon Manning from their AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms today.

HAHAHA I saw that posted from the flyers on facebook and got all excited because I thought it was peyton manning. I then read the rest of the post and realized it was someone from the phantoms.

I think he's a bit too old to make the transition to hockey, so he wouldn't be much help. I think he'd have to clear waivers and wouldn't be eligible for the playoffs if we signed him now anyway.

EDIT: Oh, Brandon. Well, now my joke sucks even more. I need coffee.

He turned down an offer to sign with the Rangers a year ago and opted to sign with the Flyers last year.

What a difference a year makes. This time last year the Flyers were on a streak where they lost 5 of 6 with 4 in a row. This year well...
Hopefully the injuries to Mez and Kimo clear up soon. With the team playing good right now no need to rush them back, especially kimo.

Thus far, this has been a more "typical" Flyers season, in that they historically have been red hot in Nov-Dec, struggled in January and February and then seem to come on again in March (while piling up injuries). It was that way with the Keenan teams, Lindros era spanning Terry Murray to Roger Neilson, Bill Barber and Hitchcock clubs up to Stevens teams. Not sure why.

Yea it sure has been a typical year. I was just refering to the streak of late as opposed to last year b/c I remember thinking then this team is going nowhere as oppossed to how how I feel now

I think goaltending has been overplayed or exaggerated. It's been overall average imo when you consider the good with the bad through the season. However he sure has looked good of late and I particularly like how the Flyers are playing in their own zone much better over the past few games.

I think the East is wide open come playoff time. NYR have been the best team all season but every other team is on the same level as the Flyers right now. Boston has had our number lately but I havent been impressed with their play lately. Im more afraid if the Flyers get Pittsburgh (even though we play them well) in the first round. I think Pittsburgh is going to be the team to beat in the East.

The east is a crapshoot. The Pens are scary if they get healthy...even if they don't, Malkin's a beast and Staal has played very well since returning.

Hockey is a physical sport, and an 82 game season is a grind, but I have never seen any franchise be ravaged by injuries year after year in any sport like this one has. Not only key injuries at the worst possible times (see Tim Kerr), but career ending injuries, Lindros, Primeau, Pronger and so on. Throw in the tragic situation with Pelle Lindbergh, and to me, it seems like a black cloud is hanging over this Organization.

So, in discussing this two line pass thing, a semi-serious part of me thought that bringing back the two line pass would force Flyer forwards to pay more attention to their gaps. They would be forced to keep it closed up.

But I am just thinking out loud, and not all that seriously....
