Campbell's hit on Umberger was the remedy. Good clean hard hockey hit. Umberger lights out, just like the Flyers playoffs that year.

What was your reaction when Umberger got cold clocked by Campbell? That was an incredible hit. One of the best the NHL has even seen.

yea it seems like Hjalmarsson gloves were glued on there huh?

Yep they were that time. If he made a habit of it then he would be a b**ch like Kronwall.

So a guy who hits also has to fight??? He's a defenseman.. and a very good one at that. He doesnt need to fight everytime he delivers a good hit
- sbroads24

No not everytime but like almost every announcer says if ur gonna be a big man and take runs at players then you better be ready to put ur big boy pants on answer the bell. Be a man and stick up for urself at least.... Good god. Its a Red Wings thing to have their gloves glued on

Hes not takimg a run at someone . Hes pinching and delivering a hit that could potentially lead to a scoring chance. If u want him to stop . Keep your head up .. Avoid the check and go on an odd man rush

I don't understand where the need to stick up for yourself is for Kronwall. He made a textbook, devastating hit. Between the whistles. It was not a cheap shot, nor was it after the play. I don't see why if someone felt he needed to be dealt with, they wouldn't go about it the same way he did... With a textbook, devastating hit. Between the whistles. I don't see anyone on the Blackhawks other than their bottom guys logging fighting majors.

It takes kronwall to hit one of your players to make a big deal about it. He hit Kesler the same way a month ago, we complained that it was dirty and everyone called us pansies.
The guy is notorious for these skate backwards cheap shot hits. He's going to get it one day.

ha. Keatondixon I will give credit because despite the fact he is a Flyers fan... he understands a good check when he sees one.

I can for the life of me understand, why even Voracek said himself it was the right call and he should have known better, but some fans think that he is wrong and Kronwall is this big Ulf Samuelsson type.

Full credit to Jagr and Voracek, who both said that hit was fine and legal, and those hits need to stay in the game.

REALITY CHECK!!!!!

Time and time again, Kronwall is not disciplined nor punished for his hits. They are deemed legal and NOT suspendable... TIME AND TIME AGAIN.

All you can do fans, is YELL out louder, keep your head up because the European is knock you into next week... hahaha.

May as well give up. Even Jagr said if you take these hits out the game you may as well be playing basketball...

I think the Hit sucked but it wasn't cheap, and I disagree with anybody that says Kronwall shouldn't have to fight after that Hit, BULL poopE, he should have had a Target on his Back all night after that Hit it was brutal, You should as a Hockey Player Fighter or Non-Fighter expect fireworks after knocking somebody the F out as he did. IF this was the other way around EVERYONE would be crying about the Flyers.

Your right about the fight, teammates should have went after Kronwall, regardless of whether it was a leagl hit or not. He knocked your teammate out of the game...it calls for some retribution.

Based on some of the other hits that have been suspendable, it makes you wonder. And yes the most questionable part was the lack of a whistle with an injured player clearly down on the ice.

On the positive side, Voracek was unable to turn the puck over the rest of the night, which seems to be his specialty.

I guess a clean devestating hit right back at him is out of the question? Is it too hard or something?

Voracek must not have any friends on his team.
Too bad for him I guess. And for the next guy that gets crushed with a clean check to the face.
But you can't afford to risk losing these incredibly important, mid-season, out-of-conference games, right Laviolette?
Weak sauce.

Did anyone around of the old "did you get his number?"... I mean they didnt even fight after clean hits in the era of Kocurs, Proberts, Clarks, and Domis... you fought only, to protect from cheap shots, I mean like real cheap shots... not clean hit people will label as cheap shots.

The league is full of visor wearing FAKE tough guys instead of them who policed order.

Back in the day if you were cold-cocked like that... you took his number and the next time he had his head down, to nailed him. Be it that night, next week, a year from now...

the League has lost its way with this "protect your teammate" garbage. Its mickey mouse, because it doesnt make sense to have to fight after a clean hit... that like saying, you have to fight now after a tripping penalty.

just dumb logic really.
