I'm completely butthurt that the NHL included Neil's hit on Drury along with Cooke's hit on Savard as an example for rule 48.

That's my biggest problem with the hit. Play should have been immediately stopped. It was obvious Voracek was in trouble as soon as the hit was made.

The refs in last nights game were very inconsistent, besides the lack of a whistle for an injured player.

The whistle needed to be blown as soon his arms were raised while he was lying on his back, that's not any kind of normal reaction nor is it a reaction that would come from a player trying to embellish. The NHL is supposedly serious about concussions but their refs leave a player down on the ice like that after a vicious hit everyone saw?

I was more on your side of the fence on this issue than the "clean hit, stop belly aching" side....but when you stop and look at the rules and the hit (as you clearly did and allow the reader too). It was not a clean hit.

I suppose that the hit was clean, but I really hate to see the video make the front page of nhl.com. I mean come on. The guy gets injured and they want to celebrate it. Yah you want to market the dangerous side of the game, but seriously? That's just crossing the line.

Clean hit, bad officating. Should have blown the whistle. Also, how does Hartnell and then Rinaldo get called for penalties afterward? I can see the refs trying to contain the potential powder keg but....maybe the instigator needs to be lifted. Mr. Kronwall great hit...now back it up.

Very true. Not a clean hit. Hitting is to seperate the man from the puck, in Kronwall's case it is seperating the man from planet earth. If this is on Crosby or Ovechkin or other top players it's on Shanahan's screen as we speak, but of course it's a red wing player so they get off easy. youtube his hits and all of them are illegal right now, but hes on detroit so...
