You're just a sheeple to the media. 10 bucks says he's on the team.

I could care less about the media, I watched the playoffs last year, most notably the first and last rounds where your boy pulled a disappearing act, and that told me alot of what i need to know. Looked really good in that game against the sabres this year too and countless other teams......

unless the players capitulate in the next cba there probably won't be NHL players at sochi.

It just doesn't make sense to shut down the NHL to benefit the russians. do you really think the russkies will schedule games to play in prime time in north america?

I was just thinking about this too. Don't forget Ryan Whitney was on the team and I am hoping by 2014 he is playing at the top of his game and can maybe replace Rafalski's spot...

Potntial roster:

Parise Kesler Callahan
Brown Stastny Kane
Ryan Pavelski Kessel
Backes Oshie Stepan
Pominville

Whitney Suter
McDonaugh Yandle
EJ JJ
Carlson Byfuglien/Orpik

Thomas/Miller/Howard/Quick/Schneider....

With Parise, Callahan, Brown, Backes, Pominville...and the extra leadership of Kesler, Suter... could be scary..

Here's a question for ya, who is the coach for US in 2014?

My choice, Blysma (I know, Homer pick). I just think seeing these young, talented American players playing his style of hockey would be fun to watch.

You can't be serious when you say that adding McDonagh, Yandle and Carlson will be akin to Canada adding Stamkos, Giroux and Tavares. You're talking about 3 up and coming decent American d-men versus 3 mega stars who are literally some of the best players in the entire world. C-mon man!

Perhaps I misread the blog, but it seems to me Ek is talking about the D-men of the two countries, not the teams as a whole.

Obviously Stamkos, Giroux and Tavares are better than McDonagh, Yandle, and Carlson.

But in terms of new defensive additions to the two teams, the US might have Canada beat, especially with no Pronger or Niedermeyer.

I don't see a team ever failing with that kind of leadership.

I know this is a defence thread, but any chance Lupul gets a look? He's proven he can be an elite player this year
