I just don't understand the concept of heckling a guy because of an achievement like they were last night. It's one thing to keep saying his name. It's entirely another to "make fun" of him for winning an Olympic medal. - HonkFortheGoose
What was actually worse was the Winnipeg "love-fest" that that douche Pierre Mcguire had going on last night. He talked about them like they were some sort of juggernaut.
When he said - after Thorburn scored - "Chris Thorburn is a different player since he came to Winnipeg. A DIFFERENT player".
Uh, no he's not, PEE-EHR. He's still the 4-goal a year player he's always been.
Those announcers on NBC sports network are by far the worst in the league. |

The whole broadcast was a Winnipeg love fest. I only got to listen to the 1st period but was glad I couldn't hear the rest of it. Everything was how great Winnipeg was and how bad the Sabres have been. Last time I checked, they weren't that far apart in the standings. |

And Pierre thinks he's some sort of hockey encyclopedia by throwing around words like Lapeenranta, Pardubice, Helsinki and Ornskoldsvik.
And every junior team that has ever produced an NHL player is a "hockey factory".
My favorite is, though, when he talks about Boston College and how they're "good with the little guys", just because Nathan Gerbe went there. |

Gee, I hope Ryan Miller is as mentally fragile as some of these Buffalo fans. Jets fans are bad because they chanted Silver Medal? That's sad. Almost as people that think the Jets left because Winnipeg didn't support them, how many times was Buffalo on life support?
I also don't get why living in Winnipeg is so much worse than Buffalo, unless your measure of quality is the same as Ray Emery's TGIF restaurants. |

Isn't that where St. Louis went too? I'm too lazy to look it up. |

No. What's sad is that you think chanting "Silver Medal", how many years after the fact, is something to hang your hat on.
You won a gold medal.
Who gives a sh!t?
Chant something that's relevant to today.
Oh, yeah. You probably had to wait until you actually had your team back before you had the chance to chant something you think is clever. |

As an amateur, St. Louis played for the University of Vermont Catamounts on the same team as Boston Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas,

Ummmmm....once. And someone stepped in and saved them. So, after 42 years of being in the league, they've moved from the city 0 times. What's your point? That to me says Sabres 1, Jets 0. Besides, the Sabres only were in a bad place because of poor ownership. It had nothing to do with the fans. When your owner makes poor business choices in other parts of his life, it tends to rock the entire boat.
Plus the Sabres have approximately 1500 people on a waiting list for season tickets. The season ticket base here would fill the arena there on a nightly basis. I'm sure there's plenty of support there now, but at one point there wasn't. So get off your high horse and go elsewhere. |

Can you please stop spamming hockeybuzz with buffalo blogs.
please and thanks. - DowJones
The reason is because there are far more Sabres fans here than atlanta thrasher fans here.
See what I did ?
I give it another 5 years of sucking and you will lose your team AGAIN to some southern climate here in the USA.
Almost 20 years since a canadian team has won the Cup troll.
We like it here in the USA , I think we will make it ours permanently, after all its been here in the States for so long, it might has well just stay here !
Keep trolling. |

1500 people would fill an arena? Interesting. I didn't get why Sabres fans were poop on by every team on this site, almost as much as Leafs fans. Now I know.
3-0-1 this year vs you guys, keep the chatter up.

Oh boy, selective reading how I love you! I said there are 1500 people on a WAITING LIST.
The season ticket base here is over 15,000. So that would fill your arena. With no tickets to spare for the general public. The FN Center seats 18,690 and currently has over 1500 people still on the waiting list.
And if you don't like what you're reading here, then go somewhere else. This is the message board for the Sabres blogger after all. |

Not even the french canadians chant silver medal anymore, because it's not relevant anymore. You should have chanted it once theUS obtained the silver medal. Oh wait. The NHL didn't believe in that stinkhole of a city in the middle of NOWHEREZ until this year. Yes I've been there. It was silver vs gold goalies the other night. Mr Silver medal won, and Mr Gold medal was pulled in the first 5 minutes. JETZ ROOL! |
