"I wouldn’t call it a shake-up," Regier said in RBC Center. "If there’s a move that makes sense for us, we’ll do it if something is going to improve our hockey club. There’s nothing imminent, as I said, right now."

This team is so much different than what it used to be even with the same players..

After Drury got taken out in the big Ottawa brawl.. Stafford immediately turned around and started throwing haymakers. STAFFORD DID!

- JVince117

IMO when goose did nothing, that was when his future as a sabre was settled

If he beat the poop out of Lucic, he would have gotten that 3 mil per extension.

he took on neil...and held up pretty well, too

the difference between this year and last, imo, is the lack of veteran leadership up-front...

add grier and neids, and they're probably in the 8th spot right now

got to work at 5 this morning and found a 75' palm tree that the wind blew over laying in the main drive, 65+ winds here today. I guess it's chain saw time.

offensively... i think Hasek did more with less than any player in team history
- SabresFaninIndiana

Hasek played with Mogilny, LaFontaine, Hawerchuk, and Andreychuk.

Satan never had anything close to those guys.

we had 50 mph wind here yesterday and it blew the gate open and broke the lock of my fenced in yard.

I got to chase 2 retired racing greyhounds all around my block.. Yup.. They are FAST!

Yea Stafford did hold his well.. Neil pulled Staff's jersey over his face and that is what ended it.

I think Ehrhoff and Regehr are our veteran leadership right now but we don't have anyone in the front with the forwards. NO1.

its not easy to just sign players like that either.

The only thing I can even find on youtube of a sabre actually doing something against Lucic was in Myers rookie year and Lucic came flying in to check Myers and Myers put Lucic flat on his a$$.

Guys like Nieds and Grier are available every July 1st, so I beg to differ.

Zenon Konopka could have been signed cheap and I am sure Ott or Clowe could have been pried away from their teams at the deadline if darcy would have offered them an extra prospect

you have to overpay with potential to obtain a known

Konopka would be a very good option... he wins faceoffs like Gaustad and can fight better than Gaustad but isn't Konopka a folding chair defensively compared to Gaustad?

EDIT: I like Downie more than Ott. Ott is basically Kaleta.

Clowe then Downie in my book. Downie is about 3 million cheaper though.

Hawerchuk and Andreychuk were gone by the time Hasek established himself. LaFontaine was injured more often than not. Mogilny was gone by late 1995. When Hasek really started to become known as the Dominator, he didn't have much around him either.
