Some talk of Marty Turco not clearing waivers tomorrow. If claimed by another team,he can't play. Bruins will use him in games if he clears.
What's up with this? Why would a team claim Turco and he can't play for them, but can play for the Bruins if he clears waivers? Would that team who claimed him be doing it just to screw the Bruins? Wouldn't Turco be pissed too? - GilPerreault
Screwing the Bruins is letting Turco play for them.
Maybe he worded it wrong. I have no idea otherwise. That just seems silly. - HonkFortheGoose
Nope he worded it correctly. After the trade dealine re-entry waivers change:
NHL Re-Entry Waiver Rule after the Trade Deadline.

Surfing through the last news reports out of Dallas, I noted that the Stars had yesterday recalled forward Toby Petersen but he'd have to pass through re-entry waivers.
Usually during the season a team can claim a player via re-entry waivers and only have to pick up half his remaining salary. However, there is an interesting twist to the rule after the trade deadline has passed.
As per Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News:
The process involving re-entry waivers changes after the trade deadline, as a team can claim Petersen for half price and place him on their NHL roster, but they cannot play him in the regular season or in playoff games for the remainder of the season. That allows teams to make call-ups like this without much risk of losing a player.
Pretty much ensures that a team can safely recall a player via re-entry waivers without fear of losing him to another team from the day after the trade deadline to the end of the season and into the playoffs.
Just goes to show you learn something new about the CBA every day!

The CBA makes me feel completely stupid. Everytime I try to look at it for something, I makes me feel totally inadequate as a human being. It's like reading a foreign language.
I probably feel that way because of the whole waiver thing. When players have to clear and when they don't and all that BS.

I know what you mean, but don't feel bad, the final version of the CBA was written by lawyers for lawyers to interpret, for the most part.
I hope Turco does get claimed because whomever does it has to be doing it to screw the Bruins. Turco can't play this year, reg season or playoffs, by that team and I can't believe that team has big plans for him next year. Humm, anyone think Vancouver might be that team still holding a grudge?

Possibly. I find it kind of amusing that Boston doesn't have anyone on the AHL team they feel could at least fill in a game or two. it's not like they have to worry about falling out of the playoffs. Thomas should be able to handle the work load down the stretch. They can afford to lose a game or 2 if they have to put in an AHL guy once in a while.
I hate classifying myself but I suppose I have to say I'm conservative just because of the economics... Social issues I just go with how I feel, not my party line
Abortion: Not my decision. If you can live with yourself its YOUR CHOICE. Who am I to tell you what to do with your body? However, I do not believe taxpayers should pay for them. It's not meant to be birth control.
Gay Marriage: Who am I to tell you who you love or who you should marry? I could care less, if you're happy, you're happy. But you need to know that with marriage you must go through the same things straight couples do. Divorce and such.
Environmental issues: Sure we could all be a little bit more helpful, everyone should do there fair share to pitch in to make our world a better place. But please, do not tell me that we've caused global warming. In the 1930's is was global warming, in the 1960-70's it was the ice age. Now it's back to global warming. For christ sakes the #1 greenhouse gas is Water Vapor, not Carbon Dioxide. Did you guys know that electric cars, from production to usage cause more pollution than regular gas fueled vehicles? Why is our GOVERNMENT investing billions in all of this? This should be done by the private sector, not our govt. - Fotes18
well that took a decade to reveal itself - Full Throttle
Pretty shocking, though he picked a good opponent. Despite his increasingly low testosterone levels Connolly is a fairly strong individual and much bigger than Marchand.
And Tampa Bays achilles heel shows its ugly head once again as I figured.

Tampa will not get in with that goaltending which is 1 less team to worry about for the Sabres. - TerryPegs
Yes and No.
Their goaltending sucks, but if you look at the Caps, Sabres, Leafs, and Lightnings schedules Tampa may have the easiest games remaining. So I'm still concerned about them.
Cam Ward 46 shots last night, the Canes should be tired coming into this one.
I'd bet Cam doesnt even start tonight.
We start Enroth tonight with Ottawa and Boston coming up ? - TerryPegs
I hope so....not that Miller needs a night off, but you can't let Jhonas collect cobwebs on the bench in case we need him later on. Tonight is a great night to get him in the crease.
