Under Laviolette, they have been better on the road. If they could somehow channel the road mentality at home, they would be all the better.

Leafs re-signed Grabovsky. Locked up the East with that move.

I have heard of teams doing that in the playoffs, not really feasible to do during the regular season.

I got into an arguement with a friend of mine yesterday who is a Rangers fan. I told him that if his team had to deal with the type of injuries we have this year, they wouldnt even be in the playoffs right now.

Think about it.. Every regular forward we have has had at least one significant injury for the exception of Talbot, Hartnell, Simmonds, and Voracek. All of our defenseman have also been injured except for Matt Carle. We lost our Captain and one of the top D-man in the league for at least the season, and the player we were expecting to lean heavily on, JVR, has only played 43 games... half a season.

If the Rangers had to deal with injuries like this, especially to thier top forwards, who havent missed a single game, then I'm pretty sure they would be fighting for a playoffs spot right now... The fact that we were able to deal with all this and still be in 5th is pretty incredible and speaks to the depth on this team... What do you guys think?

Any Updates on Timonen or Meszaros?
- RooNosHockey

According to Panotch Timonen has a lower back injury but isn't disc related. Said he will not be out too long.

with that said, he's probably getting a new spine as we speak.....

I think for home games in the playoffs, they should make the players check into a hotel room the night before the game... Give it a road feel and get away from the family drama to clear your head...

I think injuries are a part of every Flyers season since I started following the team. A team has to be lucky to avoid injuries. The Rangers have had a horseshoe up their ass all year. Callahan and Del Zotto have missed games recently, but the injuries are considered minor. Staal missed considerable time as well, but he's been back since the WC.

I know the majority doesn't care about college hoops, but what a tough loss for Drexel last night. They had won 19 games in a row heading into the CAA Championship game last night. Unfair that they had to play VCU in Richmond. These Conf Championship games should be played on a neutral court.

With Villanova having a down year, unless St. Joe's wins the Atlantic 10 Title, looks like Temple will have to carry the mail for Philadelphia this year. March Madness is really fantastic.

/end of college hoops talk.

My alma mater. Would be nice to see them do well. Not a big sports school to say the least.

I think that the Rangers have a very strong team game, strong team defense, and arguably the best Goalie in the League. I think with an injury to a top forward, or a top defenseman, which they've already had. They would still be a playoff team. An injury to Lundqvist, and it might be a different story.

19 wins in a row usually suggests a team will make the tournament, unfortunately I don't think they will get in due to the fact they play in a small conference, and don't really have any non conference wins to speak of. Bruiser Flint is a good coach. He's done a nice job at Drexel.

I recall you telling that story before, and I agree. Losing the Beast was an awful trade for the Flyers.

Glad you enjoyed the CD

Thanks! I don't know if it's the fact that it's new or that my music tastes are MUCH wider than when DLR left VH, but this is the most I'm digging a VH album ever. I liked their early stuff, liked the Hagar era stuff up to Carnal Knowledge, but only owned 1984, 5150, OU812, & the Best of Vol. 1.

True, but the flyers had more than 1 top forward or defenseman out. They have had 3 to 5 key players out for long stretches. If the Rangers experience it at this point of the year it could really hurt them.

I agree though, 1 injury or maybe 2 won't affect them. It's have to be Lundy or a couple key pieces. Fonzy has a good handle on that team though, so I wouldn't want pin my hopes on them falling apart. The Flyers need to focus on tightening up their game. Bryz also needs to continue to play strong.

If they keep trending the way they are we will be in good shape for the playoffs, IMO.

Perfect assessment of the Rangers, IMO.

I used to say, a few years ago, that I hated that they were not competitive. I don't know that I still agree.

Ill be there too. Going with my dad. I've always wanted to see the red wings live. Makes me wish they had a full roster, but at this point in the season I'll take all of the breaks we can get.

Cool.

My son was a mite on ice for a Red Wings game. The Flyers won the game. I believe it was Easter 2 years ago.

Bill, Im excited for you tonight. I personally never had the privilege of watching Howe play the game... but from the pictures you have painted I know what I have missed. I have been able to see some pretty good d-men suit up for the O&B, but never was able to watch the Flyers best. Have fun tonight...
- jak521

Thank you. I have been looking forward to this night for the last 17 years (ever since Howe's retirement as an active player). Was worth the wait!

Bill ,what are the odds everything starts on time tonight? 95 is a fickle monster and I might get caught up at work but I really really want to see his number raised to the rafters. Usually when the start time is at 7, its more like 7:10 ish

Thats awesome! Grooming him for the NHL?

If I see a woman at the game holding an iPad with GIFs instead of written signs I'll know to say hello

Hi Bill,

Just an FYI. It's no longer called the Wachovia Center... Though I miss calling it the "WalkAllOverYou" Center or the "Wacko" Center...

"Then again, the Flyers have not been as good at home (15-10-5) as they have away (21-11-2) from the Wachovia Center."

- RooNosHockey

Typo. I fixed it.

Will the banner raising start at 7 on the dot?
