Vanek has elevated his game when not playing with Roy. He's come out and, albeit subtly, said as much. You're right. Separating Roy and Vanek isn't going to magically put Vanek on a 40 goal pace right now. However, it may make him play better than he is now. It's happened before, more than once. The Sabres did it right earlier in the year: play Vanek and Pominville with someone else, be it Adam, Leino, Szcezchura, or whoever, and when they really need to step things up, insert Roy in between them (see the Montreal game in November right after the Boston fiasco). It works as a spark. It's a bad idea long term.

I want them to replicate that. Play someone else between the two of them, preferably Hodgson, and if you feel you need a spark, then insert Roy there.

While I don't disagree that LATELY Roy & Vanek haven't played well together...
I don't see it as "all Roy's fault" like everyone keeps saying
And no matter who u put Vanek with...
It's not gonna matter unless Vanek starts putting forth th effort that's needed to live up to his talent

And while it worked for a little while with Adam... It ultimately seems to have hurt him by asking too much from him too soon
I don't wanna see us make the same mistake with Hodgson
So if for now that means keeping Roy with vanek bc we don't really have anyone else that can realistically play there...
Well, then I guess Roy & Vanek will have to get their heads out of their asses & get the job done
Although, I did like ennis at center & wouldn't mind seeing him get a shot w vanek & pominville

Easy to get too upset after one loss. Still gotta figure that poopty game out, and figure out how to replicate games from earlier in the trip. Still got a shot and watching meaningful hockey when in november it looked like that was over

It's time to put Hodgson between Vanek & Pommer. The Roy cancer on that line is taking over again. If not Hodgson, then Ennis. Put McCormick there for all I care, as long as it's not Roy. He just doesn't play well with TV. Never has, never will.

Or its 4 road games in 6 nights. And we won three of them, something your team cant and wont do. Most of the rest of the Jets games are on the road. The Leafs will make the playoffs before the Jets do. The only difference between the Jets and the Atlanta thrashers is the Jets building is much smaller, so they get to call them "sell outs" for getting Columbus attendance #'s.
