yes, they have a shot...but how much can they do with their "top-six" in the tank...

miller is what he is...he's not a martin brodeur-type work horse and they have a brutal schedule for the rest of the month

Agreed. I am sure Pommers will come out of this funk as well as Vanek and Roy.

Ennis needs to stop looking to pass so much. He passed up way to many shots last night that could have been kicked out rebounds into the slot for easy one timers for the Sabres.

If I am Lindy I am telling Ennis to start shooting more and heres to hoping CoHo starts lighting it up as well. We need him to start contibuting as well. Staff has been playing better (knock on wood).

If we can continue to get production from Boyes , Leino, Tropp and Kaleta I think we will have enough to get in with Miller.

Leafs resign Grabovski - someone over there says their sources say it is at 5.5M per year.

Vanek and Roy's heads need to roll. I am fed up with them.

Pommer is just fine. He plays hard 2-way hockey. He puts up the points. And he also has a realistic salary hit.

with grabovski signing a 5 year deal, some saying in the 5-5.5 range, doesn't this increase the trade value for roy? basically more proven in every aspect and still 1 year left at 4mm

Mikhail Grabovski's contract extension with TOR is five years with AAV of $5.5M.

The center market is week again this year and he is comparable to Roy.

Roy got 4mil in 07/08 which equals to about what Grabovski just got in todays market.

The rich contract handed to Grabovski a clear reflection of just how thin the UFA market is for centers this summer.

oh sh!t sh!t. Roy's value just sky rocketed again.

Olli Jokinen is the only other good C option available. Stoll and Gaustad aren't bad 3rd line options either. (that I can think of without looking)

Jokinen got 3.1 last year while Leino got 4.5.

Olli can be had on the cheap and will probably re-up with Calgary.

Any team that pays goose over what he makes now will regret it 10games in.

so you think that vanek is overpaid but nash isnt?

nash has the exact same ppg as vanek does over his career and the exact same % of points as goals? theyre basically the same player, and nash has a cap hit of 7.8M for the next 6 years while vanek has 7.1M for the next 2.

you can definitely argue that nash is a better leader than vanek, but is that worth .7M more each year for the next 6 years? for a guy that has averaged 60 pts a year over his career?

maybe i have always overvalued roy but i don't buy that these two are that comparable. roy is only 1 year older and leads every statistic against him (i know he has more nhl games). and grabovski has never played an nhl playoff game.
