He was ducking the confidence question, but whatev. Most goalies wouldn't answer straight up anyways I suppose. Like o&B said there's the language thing going on too. It's his stoopid grin and the way he answers. Less is more for him I think.

He's a goalie. If he wasn't acting weird, there would be an issue. I bet Henrik Lundqvist chews his own toenails or something like that. They're all odd. I lived with one (my brother).

Why do the players feed him though? Briere and coburn spewing team leader meetings specifically for bryz? We shouldn't know about that stuff IMO, and that's on the players

Bruins have signed Marty Turco. Rask is out with a strained groin, 4-6 weeks.

It's the same old same old for Panaccio. Flyers have a great game and he's posting this kind of story. It never ends. You realize he's from Pittsburgh, right? Along with Randy Miller of the Courier Post. Because he's the "senior" member of the local Philly press that covers hockey, most of the rest of them follow his lead. Carchidi, Seravalli, Miller, Ed Moran when he was here... Anthony San Filippo and Wayne Fish were the only two that did not tow the same line as TP.

He's the "Hockey Insider" - with little clue as to the game of hockey so he has to write this drivel instead. It's been said many times by fans how he "saw" things in the game that never happened. We wanted to read his articles for stuff said by players or to get to know the players and staff better. All he does is insert his agenda into his work and comes out with more and more drama and "controversy" where there may be little to none.

I don't know why Richie was traded, but he was one player that called TP out for his bending of the truth. GM Bob Clarke did the same. It's not what he reports, so much, as it is how he reports.

I'd rather get inside stories on the players like the Hockey News does - with no agenda or (usual) bias - than continue to see this man stir up needless controversy.

This.

I had the game on PVR. Watched it without knowing the score ahead of time. Bryz and the Flyers played a great road game. Almost playoff like hockey.

Please keep Bryz away from any microphones or cameras though. His interview with Engblom at ice level right after the game might have appeared endearing to some, but it made him look like an ass clown to me.

- rockychocbill

Completely disagree about the ass clown part. He gave credit to his teammates several times and seemed pretty genuine. He did seem like he was playing dumb a little when Engblom was pointing out that he'd played 8 games in a row and he said he didn't know. Then again Engblom is a complete idiot, so I don't blame him for that. Can't stand that guy. If there was an ass clown in that interview, it wasn't Bryz.

Somebody did say that Bryz really didn't know. I think it was Jonesy or Barkann .

It seemed to me pretty genuine.

Thanks. I try not to meander so, as I am prone to doing when speaking.

I believe I was due for a doozy. Have to make up for the absences of Jsaq (VH concert) and hammarby (goalie guild meeting) tonight.

I'm just tired of the damned if you do damned if you don't thing. Either you want them to have personalities and be forthcoming or you don't. I do. The alternative is a lot of canned gobbledygook.

Agreed. Plus, like I said before, Engblom is an ass. Can't expect a guy to answer a question like that honestly. I wish he would have responded with something like "Yep, 8 in a row for me Brian, one game for each of the hairs you have in your lame ass comb over."

Bryz can't win with some people no matter how responds or what he says. For some it's never going to be the right thing to say or good enough.

I'll stick with just supporting him.

I'm not a fan of his work. I doubt he had Danny B and Coburn tied to a chair with a feather though to get that info. Info that the team should keep behind closed doors

I agree 100%. This apparent meeting that happened, should be private and isn't for the press or the fans.

Look at what Coburn ACTUALLY SAYS and what Panaccio claims Coburn says. Two totally different things. As for Briere? Who knows, but he doesn't have much room to talk right now, does he?

I'm sure Englebom is great. It's Engblom that drives me nuts.

Just kidding. He's marginally better as a color guy, but he's dreadful at interviewing, or even using complete sentences. I think too many years of mullet wearing must have permanently lowered his IQ. He is better than anyone in Boston or Pittsburgh, but that's not saying much. I'm not a fan.

I thought the same thing as I was reading this...how the hell did Tim even find out that the meeting took place? Stuff like that needs to stay in the room. Talk about not being a good teammate - blabbing about a team-only meeting to Dramacio would have to pretty high on the list of things that make one a bad teammate.

Wow Briere actually commented that management had words with Bryz? He really does need to worry more about what he himself can do for the team.
