proves who wrong?

Leino seems to have found his niche playing checking-line center. He's doing well at it, but $4.5 million per year for 6 years isn't not a good investment if that's going to be his ceiling.

good point...when detroit or pittsburgh or vancouver do it, they're almighty...
- b0s0o1

thank you. That is what I mean.

If Vancouver would have done that to us.. it would have been "oh man this eastern team comes into the West best Vancouver's house and just gets throttled in the opening minutes"

We, in here, would burn Miller at the stake. But you know what I mean.

Usually when those teams do it the guys doing it arent Leino and Boyes scoring their 5th and 6th goals in the 65th game of the season, just saying.

33% of Leino's goals this season came on Saturday night.

Boyes with 2 goals in 3 games is nice to see.

Trading Hodge into that lockerroom was like every player snorting a line of coke before the games. They just play with so much more energy and speed to them.

I really hope that Leino proves us wrong and starts playing really strong.

... that's why the team missed Connolly

We complained about paying checking line center Gaustad more than 2.75 but now Leino makes 4.5.

I think that any place where Leino is producing we cannot complain about it.

I bet the medical staff misses the intelligent conversations and the amount of time spent with them though.

kinda figured he'd take a while to adjust to a rather tumultuous off-season

he's a top-nine player at least, probably top-six...

the prob is that there's "no room" for him right now...

i'd have created some room for him at the deadline...or make it happen this off-season

so what...the fact of the matter is that they did do it...

i'm not proclaiming them to be the flyers or the hawks, nucks or the almighty penguins...

they did it in a hostile environment on the west coast playing their third game in four nights....

credit where credit's due

They get full marks for their road trip so far. You made a comment why perception is different, I gave the reason why. I was making more of a point of ripping on Luongo because I don't care for him. Not taking credit away from the Sabres.

HA good luck winning at the MTS centre, My guess is vannek will be booed off the ice. If the jets play like they have been last week I think it will be a 3-1 jets victory.

I'm sticking with my guns and saying Leino is to good of a player to stay quiet a whole season...

Eh, I dont think hes that good. He had 2 goals on saturday, lets leave it at that. Until he gets over 40 points in a season he'll still be pretty useless in my mind.

Does anyone think we have a chance to catch Ottawa too?

Ottawa is up 8 points on us. We play them one more time. We have 2 games in hand against them. They have a little bit of uncertainty in goal.

he could be a bust...but it's still too early to make that proclamation, especially taking into consideration what's transpired the last 9 months

Anyone hear about this? OHL team had to take a forward off the ice and make him play goalie because of injuries. He hadn't played goalie on ice since he was 5 years old. Wore skates 3 sizes too small. Stopped 32 of 45 shots.

Personally, I would almost rather have 8th. I think they match up better against the Rangers than against Boston. A matchup with Boston would mean a whole lot of shenanigans I'd rather do without.

I completely agree with you that I would rather play the Rangers but it was just a thought.

Its weird to say that the best team in the NHL points wise atleast is the team that we would match up better with.

I think Boston is gonna have Thomas start every game now aren't they? Maybe they wear Timmy out for the playoffs.

I don't think so. First place is basically out of reach, and Florida isn't going to catch them (or any of the other Southeast teams). They're pretty much cemented right where they are, so there would be no point in wearing Thomas out.

Yes, ive always said I'll give him a season to adjust. Once next year starts then he has to produce. 15g25a I think would be a good season for him next year.
