Wsh big scorers are Ovie, Backstrom, Semin, and Knuble. Backstrom is IR'd and the other 3 are all have Stafford like seasons. - JVince117
Let's no drag Staff into this.... Staff and Ennis are the most important players in this playoff push... Their good play needs to continue.... As well as the Kaleta Leino Gerb line.. |

To be fair, Ovechkin's worst season is like Stafford's best. However, he does make more than double Stafford's contract and then some. - Gunner Staal
as much skill as ovie has, which is a ton, he's always been a goal-suck |

maybe it's time for the top-line to have a big goal/game...they've been pathetic |

Needless to say I am not a big Ovechkin fan, I respect the talent but I just don't care for him or his "schtick". |

I don't think its a coincidence that Pommer and Vanek have been void of production with Roy centering them. Get 19 between the studs. Oven mitts Luongo won't be there to spot the Sabres 3 goals on Tuesday.
The Winnipeg games are really fun to watch, great atmosphere. |

if hodgson is a top line center, why do they need olli, specifically, as the #2 center?...
there would be plenty of other options including ennis - b0s0o1
I personally think they need more 1A and 1B scoring lines. I think that Olli is a better center than Ennis is (currently). |

Boyes with 2 goals in 3 games is nice to see.
Trading Hodge into that lockerroom was like every player snorting a line of coke before the games. They just play with so much more energy and speed to them.
I really hope that Leino proves us wrong and starts playing really strong. |

I really think Roy only played good before the trade deadline because he did want to move. Even though he came out and said he wanted to stay in Buffalo.
Now that we didn't move him. He disappeared again. |

When that happened, I don't know why, but the first thought that came to my mind were those old Bud Light "Leon" commercials, the ones where he always throws his teammates under the bus? I'd link one of them on youtube but it's blocked here at work. |

Few times do I find myself engaging in excitable high fives with my Sabre friends when the Sabres score, but the combination of Leino scoring on Luongo twice in less than 5 minutes was too much to pass up. |

I'm not attacking you Gunnar but I just think its funny that when a team gets a quick lead its automatically ''Oh the Goalie let them win"
Never have I seen it as "wow we put up 3 really nice quick goals that could have beaten most goaltenders too" |

I don't like Luongo so I am biased in that regard.
The 2nd goal was laughable. |

Agree 100%... Roy seems to effect the production of his linemates on every line he's been on this season. He's very skilled, however, he's a dumb player who will typically give up a blind pass in the offensive zone, as well as one of the biggest puck hogs we have. Notice how many giveaways he has leads to scoring opportunities by the other team. |

with all due respect, i hate 1a/1b...
that means that neither line can beat top-notch goalies consistently...which has been a problem for this team since the summer of '07 |

We've also been on the road, which means the opponent can match up their top d pairing and shutdown line against our top line. Not saying that its ok they havent been producing, but I think that could be a part of it. |

Only one of those 3 goals (Boyes), could you make an argument that was a really nice goal. The other two were squarely on Luongo. The first one by Leino should have been stopped, and the second one was just a stupid rebound put right back to Leino's stick. It reminded me of the USA-Canada round robin game in the Olympics when Brodeur tried to bat the puck out of the air right to Rafalski in 2010. |

I basically just meant 2 lines with all top line type players. Kind of like how Chicago spreads out kane, sharp, toews, Hossa, and Brunette |
