I'm interested... You need a forward?
- BuffaloKyle

Need anything I can get Kyle... only about 3 of us have any idea what's going on...

I don't mind playing dump and chase but you have to actually chase for it to work... Also, when I come out of the zone with the puck nobody moves and shows to get a pass... It's frustrating!

I think that you guys will end up winning the division. Panthers and Sabres will have to fight it out for the 8th spot.
- sabrebuzz8

That would be nice, though on principle no one in the SE deserves that third spot I would love it if we still had some games left to play the Panthers like we do Winnipeg to make up some of those points, but sadly we are done with them for the year.

There is something that you guys in Buffalo have that the rest of us in the SE don't, Ryan Miller. Hopefully he stays hot for you guys, and if he does you have a really good chance.

David Stern and Gary Bettman on Costas now... Bettman is a really classy guy, I've never quite understood the hate for him. He seems completely more intelligent than David Stern.

Edit: although it's not that hard.. Stern and Selig are competing for worst Commissioner ever.

You can tell Bettman is very uncomfortable talking about fighting/non fighting issue that USA Hockey and Hockey Canada are debating right now... You can tell he wants no dice on eliminating fighting...

Can you catch a pass? Seems my guys can't do that either haha...

Our issue right now is getting people to show up, get's hard playing with 5-6 forwards and 3 D... When we have numbers we play solid hockey... But as of late it's been a problem...

I'm a career forward playing D and I'm starting to hate it... Played 3 games at forward this season and had 2 goals in both of them with constant pressure... It was good because I was teaching/showing some of these newer players how it's supposed to be played and where to be.

Would the Sabres be actively pursuing any of the following the top undrafted collegiate players? They have to be. Anyone have a favourite or two?

Spencer Abbott, LW 5' 10" 175lbs and Brian Flynn, Cen 6' 1" 185 lbs
Both Seniors, University of Maine....Are the Sabres interested because the Leafs and Rangers are.

Spencer Abbott leads the nation in both points (56) and assists (37) and is a top candidate for the Hobey Baker Award. Abbott's quickness and game-changing ability have got him labeled by scouts as a "big time player". Abott plays with center Brian Flynn.

Brian Flynn has shown a knack for scoring timely goals as well. Flynn also excels in face-offs, winning well over 50 percent of his draws. Not expected to be a physical force.

Also listed are:

J.T. Brown, RW 5' 10" 170 lbs
Sophomore, University of Minnesota-Duluth
Very good defensively and very fast, gritty with an exceptional drive to the net.

Jack Connolly, C 5' 8" 170 lbs
Senior, University of Minnesota-Duluth
Fast center with excellent passings ability, but is small.

Dan DeKeyser, D 6' 3" 190lbs
Sophomore, Western Michigan University
30 NHL teams pursuing him. Reminds me of Chris Butler and may be more like Sekera, but with a powerful and accurate shot that create rebounds difficult to control. If I were the Sabres, I would look at this guy closely.

Jack MacLellan, C 5' 11" 175 lbs
Senior, Brown University
MacLellan is quick and a dynamic playmaker. He can make things happen whenever the puck on his stick. MacLellan is strong on his skates and tough to move off the puck.

Chris Rawlings, G huge at 6'5" 207 lbs
Junior, Northeastern University
Rawlings has been rock solid in goal, even when his team loses.
A .919 save percentage with 31 shots per game. Good control over rebounds helps.

Jeremy Welsh, C/W
Junior, Union College
Welsh is a player that has the ability to dominant a game. He has size (6'3, 210 lbs); a pro-style shot, great net presence, and can finish plays exceedingly well.
I think Sabres should be looking at this guy.

Mark Zengerle, C
Sophomore, University of Wisconsin
Zengerle possesses really nice hands and has the ability gets pucks to teammates consistently in open spaces.

Eriah Hayes, RW, Junior, Minnesota State University-Mankato - A power forward with size (6'4, 210 lbs) that thrives in the physical game. Could it be that he is the big winger Sabres have coming to replace Kassian deeming Kassian expendable.

Cal Heeter, G, Senior, the Ohio State University - A steady, athletic netminder with size (6'4, 195 lbs)

Kelly Zajac, C, Senior, Union College - A quick, excellent playmaking center that leads the Dutchmen with 30 points. The New Jersey Devils are among the teams that have shown interest in Zajac. His brothers Travis and Darcy are currently part of the Devils organization.

Scott Zurevinski, C/W, Senior, Quinnipiac University - A 6'2, 215 lbs power forward that has developed into one of college hockey's best checking wingers.
Another player the Sabres should be looking at.

PS. Ovechkin must have been celebrating Puss'n Putin's election victory!

homieclown whats with your location? One of the reasons why his stats are down is because of his injury... He was clearly rattled and not 100% when he came back. Plus he had a bunch of Rookies laying D during the terrible injury plague on the team. Even if we were top 5 in the Eastern Conference I don't think any team would reject a 1st rounder for GAUSTAD! So don't blame Miller for the poor play for the 1st half. He is the ONLY reason we are even in the hunt.

Playing the Jets in there building is like playing the best team in the league
- keatondixon

True. Just like playing the Flyers in their building is like playing the Pennsylvania State Penitentiary team in front of 18,000 lowlifes, scumbags and degenerates.

Yea I'm also a decent passer... In college and high school I was blessed with a very talented passer at center... So he kind of made It easy for me... 20 goals my senior year.. Then I had 10 at MCC..

I will give you the short version

For starters, I am not a fan of Miller. I do not hate him, just feel in a cap era he is over paid and used his position of "power" to encourage darcy to bring back an inferior lalime as well as put us in a position to part ways with Biron and go with TBLOW

Perhaps it is because of liking Biron and his attitude when he was a Sabre. Marty would always start the interviews with "I need to do better", where Miller starts them with "we need to do better".

The avatar was changed after the last road trip when the team showed no effort, we have played great since and I do not want to jinx that.

The location was a reaction to him pouting after Goose was traded.

You can make a case of injuries, but if he was more focused we would be playing for the division not clawing to get a chance to sniff 8th place.

He deserves the majority of credit for the recent win streak and has firmly cemented that vanek should be under the microscope instead of him now, but back as recent as a month ago Miller was one of the main reasons we had struggled this year.

Once again, no hate

I just do not want to jinx the winning streak right now with change.

Hope that clears things up

There are only 2 negative things that have happened, for me, on this "West Coast Trip"...

1) A sudden urge to go out and rent "How the West Was Won".
2) A reminder of how I miss hearing Rick J on the call!

Just sayin"

I loved Biron's attitude as well and liked him over Miller even though Miller was the better goalie...

And Miller does come off as a baby at times in interviews but he is the only reason why we have a shot now and I don't blame him for the terrible first half.

I respect your opinion and its nice to get a reply from someone without them getting hostile!

I think we can all agree on one thing at this point! Lets make a playoff push!!!

I think if they win tomorrow, they should strive for 6th place and not settle to just get in.

I do not think they can make a deep run, but if two lines click, special teams play well and Miller is hot, this team could beat anyone in the east for a 7 game series

I think the continued good play of the Ennis coho and Staff line and the Leino Kaleta Gerbe line is the key to this playoff push..

The announcers are picked by the team. I have a feeling that they just wemt with sylvester this year because he's just a stop gap at the moment. I think when RJ retires, they'll do a more extensive search. You may even see that done in the offseason. They kind of threw this crew together pretty quick as a way to keep RJ around longer. But they certainly are awful.
