Grags could be a stud but he needs some serious grooming.. i still always remember his first call up to buffalo, i think it was in EDM. he looked so scared out there i felt sorry for him. He was starting to go back to that.
Oh i didn't mean weber was off the team i just meant he was bumped down to the 5/6/7 dman scenario. He has been playing better lately.. - SabresFaninIndiana
this is a pretty solid defensive unit that can put up some points...
i'd say it's pretty much a given that myers, ehrhoff and regehr will anchor the top-pairings...mcnabb could round out that group...
then there's weber, sekera and leopold for 5/6/7...

You would never want one of the most dynamic players in the world on your team...?...ok... - sambarugh
Nope.
Chemistry is everything.
In hockey , my career field , everything.
Ovi and Semin are both chemistry killers.
If I were the owner of the Buffalo Sabres after watching the last few Caps games that I have I would look at Darcy nd tell him that under no circumstance do I ever want either one of those players on my hockey team.
Ovi has what 37 point? Yea some dynamic guy he is.
The guy is selfish, always has been and Semin is the exact same way.
Thats big no thank you on both of them.
Now Crosby, 24/7/365 I want this guy on my team. |

sure...
don't think washington would go for it, though - b0s0o1
most likely not.. Backstrom is a solid center though and probably just needs a new team. |

I think Anaheim has some BIG questions ahead of them this off season on where their franchise is going. Selanne, Blake, and Koivu are all 37+ and all make over 4M per season I believe.
With Getzlaf and Perry both UFAs after next season, I think those guys need to be let go just to free up the money to resign Getzlaf and Perry. IF they let one walk or trade one at the deadline next year we will have to wait and see.
Parise a UFA after this year.. and Perry/Getzlaf UFAs after next year. - JVince117
All are UFA's. Ducks have a good amount of cap room to play around with, if they want. |

As of this moment and how Regehr is playing. If he continues down this path in this groove that he has FINALLY found I would not mind seeing the Sabres sign him to a 1 year extension.
He is by far hands down our most physical D-Man which is exactly what we brought him in for. He is only 31 right now. 32 at the end of his contract next year.
But at the same time it seems Lindy has a love affair with Leopold getting the most ice time. - JVince117
the sabres troubles do not lie behind the blue line...
there troubles continue up-front with the suck-sisters...
even though darcy did real well at the deadline, it's not nearly enough up-front |

thats how i would like to see it.. but i don't think they will put McNabb up there that quickly. McNabb has some offensive skills and if they let him grow into it he could be a very solid all around dman. I think they should get him up soon though so that he can hone his defensive play by learning from regher.. |

yes I know. That is what I am saying. Do they try to bring them back on 1 year deals again or do they let them walk? Selanne could retire with no problem but IDK if Koivu would retire and IDK if I could see him going to another team that easily either.
Blake I'm sure would just go to another team just like Ray Whitney did at 39. |

Blake will probably not be back. If Selanne comes back Koivu will probably also be back. I have no idea what Selanne is going to do, but I really hope he comes back. I don't know how far off Emerson Etem is from joining the ducks but he already has 50 goals and 100 points in the WHL this season. |

What I was getting at is that with all of those guys on the blue-line they could be easy pieces to use to help acquire more help for the suck-sisters haha.
I personally do NOT want Regehr to go. Leopold, Sekera, Weber, Brennan... could all be moved with a player like adam or Roy for bigger names up front.

Who's chemistry did he kill when they finished with 121 points in 2009-10?
It's easy to look at this season when they are underachieving.
I'm sure you'd rather have Matt F Ellis on your team because he 'works hard'. |

One thing to think about though. If we make it in as the 8th seed. And by some miracle were to upset the Rangers in 7 games. We would face the winner of Pitt/Philly (as they sit right now). We have always been bad against each of those teams. BUT if we do make it to 7th seed then and miraculously beat Boston we would probably play NJ because they would be the SE Conference winner with ease.
Point being... would you rather play pitt/philly or NJD? - JVince117
Teams get reseeded. If we beat the Rangers, then we play the highest seed that won their matchup. So unless Boston and the SE team both lose their matchups, we wouldn't face Pitt/Philly. |

I've heard a lot of people in here thinking about Staal. |

personally, i like the way brennan has progressed...he's tied for the league lead in goals by a defenseman (13)...
he needed to work on his defense, and he's focused on that during his time in the ahl...
plus he's got attitude |

What? I've never heard of the NHL doing that? Anyone else with info on this?
Its just like playoff bracketing. 1v8 plays winner of 4v5. 2v7 plays the winner of 3v6??? |

I believe this to be correct. He could be a good one, but time will tell. I thought weber and sekera were going to be a great 3/4 pairing for years to come in buffalo but i can't see that happening anymore. |
