Also, like Parise said, almost every team plays the 1-2-2 and/or the left wing lock.

A 1-2-2 is almost like the default positioning for every team, at least once, you will see a team go into a 1-2-2.

the way i look at is , Rangers have to play twice as hard to win , look how many ot games they are apart of, the min play offs start all teams will be going for gold. Rags are out 1st round vs Buff. The lack of talent in the line up will catch up to these guys watch , March will be a Disaster for NYR.

Backes and Brown is stretching it. Parise is stretching it also. Thornton doesn't really have anything that would make him a better captain then Callahan.

I count none.

I was just getting the point across that other teams can play the trap (Boston, NYR, Pitt in Game 7, Philly did it when Lavy first came in, Red Wings play the left wing lock which is like the trap, etc. etc.) yet nobody would ever use the term trap with them.

In addition, they said that the Flyers were playing a "very passive 1-2-2" and one point, yet no mention of trap. It's kind of funny at times.

I'm not knocking him at all but it's just not something you start talking about this soon. There's new players on the squad so you cant say he took last year's roster and with his leadership effected the improvement.

Maybe if the Rangers get through the first round of playoffs, you might start to build your case but right now it's circumstantial with a fair dose of speculation sprinkled on top.
