Sestito tweeted today that he still can't walk. So I'm guessing not any time soon.

Unfortunate.

As impressed as I have been with the rookies.. Its painfully obvious that Schenn, Cooties and Read have hit a wall.

Still holding their own for the most part but they are starting to look completely exhausted.

In particular, I remember Read having a lot more jump earlier in the season.

It's to be expected. Couturier, and Read are playing in unchartered waters as far as games played now. Schenn missed a bunch of time, he should still be fairly fresh. But Couturier, and Schenn are 19 & 20 yrs old respectively, you have to expect them to have peaks and valleys.

I cant believe Gus is still alive after the way that hit was described by Engblom.
- joepa90

The hype did not match the hit, you are correct.

Big difference between Hockey in Oct, Nov then in March. The games are getting more intense ramping up towards the playoffs. The Rookies are fine.

Good period overall from a defensive standpoint, and Bryz came up big when he needed to. The Flyers had plenty of offensive zone time but really didn't challenge Neuvirth at all.

Bryz has been the difference so far.

I agree. Bryzgalov was very good that period. I do like the effort and intensity that period from the Flyers. A little too much time in their own end towards the later half of the period though.

He's had ups and downs. Of late, last month or so, he's played well for the Ducks.

Flyers won 4 out of 14 faceoffs that period. Ouch!

Grossman has really impressed me so far. Solid.

Lost 10 out of 14 faceoffs that period. Major flaw. It's going to surely bite them in the playoffs.

They are fine, but it is not unreasonable to say that they are learning as they go in terms of how to stay healthy and on top of things physically. I think it goes a lot to the way Lavy has handled their ice time this season.

I havent seen them hit the wall per se. But there is no doubt in my mind anyway that they are a bit ground down mentally and physically at this point of the season. Who wouldn't be at that age?

As you said its March, where the "grind" really grinds. Once the games really matter in the playoffs they will step up. Especially Couturier and Schenn, while they haven't experienced NHL playoff hockey, playing in the World Juniors for Canada is pretty close in terms of relative pressure.

I'm excited to see how he turns it up come playoff time, and I think they will.

I think there is a good chance Grossman returns. Still a relatively young guy, physical, should come reasonably. A cap hit in the area of 3 million is probably his range.
