Players have to be tough to play here man. You can't do much to help a guy who is weak in the head.
We need guys with strong characters and with the rind mindset, not only the skillset.
Pacioretty could've really faded away if he would've been weaker in the head, in 2010 he was seen as an average prospects, and now he's a 25 goal scorer. - QuebecPride
Montreal and Toronto are bar none the two toughest places to play in the NHL.
If you falter and don't play up to expectations, the media and fans will tear you apart. But if you become a leader and play like a star, the city will hold you as an immortal being. |

i hate the habs, i hate that you guys are doing so badly this year cause your going to end up with an awesome prospect but to give credit where credit is due, Pacioretty is awesome.. hes putting up good numbers on a bad team. Good size, strong, great shot. Can see him being a point per game player in the league for a while. |

In EA's Newest Hockey title, NHL 12, a team offered me 2 1st round picks and a 20% trade value, young prospect for ......... wait for it ...........
Thomas Kaberle.
I accepted the trade. |

While I've been on board for the tank as of about game 20 this season, you've got to feel for Price. The guy is one of the only ones putting in a full effort night after night. I can't for the life of me understand why he's still on pace for 72 starts with the season clearly in the toilet. Give the guy a break - ehabs9
Absolutely agree. Budaj should get at least half of the rest of the games.

Why? Budaj actually doesn't know how to NOT stop a puck, where as carey price looks like a pro at pretending he tried to save the puck....

Could be wrong, but I thought Grabovski's rights were what we sent for Sundin's rights - ehabs9
I think any considerations on Montreal's part were conditional on Sundin signing with the Canadiens. They gave up nothing just to talk to him. Grabovski was one of the guys being talked about going the other way if Sundin signed though. |

I agree about McGuire, although if you read some of the articles out there since it's come up bringing him in would have it's detractors as well.
I personally would have taken Carlyle ( I remember reading somewhere he speaks french) over Crawford. I find it ridiculous that they've decided Cunneyworth isn't going to be the future coach, yet they refuse to replace him until the summer.
Edit: Personally I think the best thing to do would be to bring McGuire in as head of scouting. The one thing everyone agrees on despite how weird he is is that he knows players. I feel like he might not leave TV for that though. - ehabs9
I don't know if he's a fit in Montreal (because of the language issue) but someone should go after Dallas Eakins this summer. He's the next Dan Bylsma and would be perfect for a young rebuilding team. I don't want to lose him but with this new Carlyle deal it's inevitable. |

Fairly certain Crawford speaks french, that's why they brought him up a lot after Martin was fired.
I feel like Roy is the inevitable coach to be. Which should we end up with Grigorenko I won't mind too much, and you never know maybe he's actually got what it takes. Not fully onboard with it though
Edit: I'll admit as stupid as the whole language issue is in my opinion. It's definitely an eye opener as to how many coaches do speak french. Far more than I thought. |

Crawford broke into the NHL coaching the Quebec Nordiques. His French is decent. Plus, he is still relatively young but still has a Jack Adams and a Stanley Cup. He wouldn't be a bad choice. |

I think Crawford would be a good choice - Roy I think would be a bit too emotional and may suffer a coronary on the bench if a call goes against him - I always wanted the Habs to pick up Armstrong after he got canned in DAL - but STL picked him up quick - now look at them |

Rumor is Habs don't like Grigorenko as a top 5 pick, too risky. |

So I take it we're going with a D or Galchenyuk? I suppose there's always hoping we win the lottery. |

Watch the Habs screw up the best pick we have had in years. Any of these guys NHL ready? |

Roy is too much of a loose cannon. The team would become a bigger circus than it is right now. Plus, I loved Burke's reasoning with Dallas Eakins. He has never coached an AHL playoff. That is a GM who knows there are essential preparations necessary to be an NHL coach, especially in a big market. Roy is coaching junior. Let's get real. |

Forsberg is, or the most NHL ready they say. Completely slipped my mind actually I would assume they'd take him over Galchenyuk.
Edmonton will take Murray, so sssuming the season finishes as is the only ones off the table will be Yakupov and Murray. |

Weak draft bro..... You watch, Maybe 1 or two stars.
Yakupov sits high on the todem pole while guys like galchenyuk, forsberg, grigs and murray are looking skyward.

I find it's hard to judge whether a player is NHl ready or not. They usually make the biggest assumption based on their size and development, but that usually doesn't really dictate the impact they will or won't have. |

Plekanec has certainly been average at best since December but RC is making a complete fool out of himself.
I can't wait for this poop show to be over. - aime_les_totons
It would be nice if Pleks had some actual worthy wingers. Once again, he has to deal with a bunch of mediocre wingers rotating through his line... and it got a hell of a lot worse with Cammy and Akots traded and Gionta injuries.
People should be praising Pleks for what he has managed to do with the crap he has had to play with, rather than jumping all over the guy.
Put Pleks between Patches and Cole, see how well he produces and how well DD does. Not trying to poop on DD, just saying at some point, wingers need to be found for Pleks. |
