Maybe they realized that Regehr couldn't play this morning? After the SJ game, Ruff said he would have to wait and see if Regehr's injury swelled up. Maybe they thought he'd be ok to go or wanted to wait a day and see. If they were closer to home, I think McNabb would have gotten recalled, but they're on the other side of the continent, with short notice and Sulzer has a chance to play his old team, so I am ok with it.
