Both you guys are taking each others opinions too serious. Either option is great. The Oilers NEED D now and Myers would bring that. Don't exactly need another small winger but you can never have too much skill. I don't see the point of getting so worked up about something we have no influence on. Trust Stu will make the right call where ever we pick

Not only are you an oiler homer, you are an oilking homer. Rhienhart is a fine prospect, but he's not even in the discussion for a top 2-3 draft pick. This reminds me of the musil for 1st overall nonsense that a poster from another site was pushing all last year.

If rheinhart played for the hit men, you wouldn't even know who he was..

- Zombie

Actually I am not a homer if you want to call it that. If that is what you have for an arguement then its time for you to think about what you just said. I never said that Rhienhart would be drafted before Yakupov or Gregorenko. That being said I did say that the Scouts have said he might be the most NHL ready physically out of the prospects. At 6'4" 202LBS at the age of 17 then I would say in my humble opinion they might be right.
He skates very well and if you listen to his Coach Deryk Laxdall who raves about Rhienhart on the #1 defensive unit in the WHL. On a team that is +101 on the year for GF and GA. If the Oil Kings go on an extended Play-off run Rhienharts stock will be rising even more.

Probably older than you!! I would also venture that I have watched more hockey as well!! Not to mention played a a decent level! The point is I think you guys are overestimating Myers based on the Oilers needs! Yes the Oilers NEED D but there is NO WAY Myers is a better choice than an Ovechkin, Crosby or Yakupov!

Dude seriously those are varying degrees of the Argument from Authority fallacy.

You act and talk like an expert and so we should listen to what you say.

If you are so old you should act more mature...

You have no way to prove how much hockey someone has watched, especially in these days where so much more hockey is available to be seen.

Your talent level means 100% zero to any discussion here.

So smarten up.

It has been determined that Griffin Reinhart will be the best blueliner to come out of this draft.

It does not matter that Ryan Murray plays on a poopty team and Reinhart plays on a top junior team. Reinhart is a monster !!!!

You are too dense to be here...the oilers are not getting yakupov. Cbj has that. On top of that yakupov does not fill what the team needs...defencemen. Top 2 type d-men...the timelines is getting compressed for the rebuild. Giving up the 1st round pick this year to get Myers, a guy that fills the teams needs in everyway ( top 2 dman that is nhl level), is completely acceptable.
- OilHorse

For the record as I am quite certain you will not take the time to look in the mirror and see that it was in fact you that started this!! Above is your first response to me in regards to the Myers for the Oilers 1st~ As you can CLEARLY see the word "DENSE" was used by you!!!

Too funny you really want an offensive blueliner who has had questions about his defensive ability over a player who does nothing outstanding but does everything very well. That is not my words but Coach Deryk Laxdall. Go ahead and try and make fun of me as it show's your true agenda and intelligence level to poke fun at someone.

As it sits right now we would be drafting 2nd overall, rheinhart is not in th mix as a top 2 pick.

omg you need to settle down. First of all that was mostly me, i called you 12 and said you had no hockey knowledge and the way you are acting isnt helping your case. As its been said before when you make statements like "would you trade OV or crosby for myers or suter" it really has no relevance to the conversation because Yakupov hasnt done anything in the NHL and who knows if he will, just because he is stellar in the WHL doesnt mean anything ie. Daigle, though first overall busts are less likely these days. I dont know why i am even bothering because im sure most of this will go right over your head, come back when you are 18.

Griffin Reinhart is a good prospect no doubt, but Ryan Murray is better now and has a much higher ceiling than Reinhart.

.... yes you clearly won that argument, i hate to tell you this i am not a teenager, and its quite obvious just by the way you type that you arent older than 19, no self respecting adult would talk like you do. Im not really sure what you are trying to accomplish but im not taking part in it anymore, for future reference you dont win arguments by stating that you are right remember that when your class does the model UN, its a lot of fun.

You know whats funny here is all you guys that have this big boner for Ryan Murray from Everett. He is supposed to be this offensive wunderkid. He is 6'1" 195 and sits 38 in the WHL for scoring among defencemen:
-38th Murray 39gp 9G 18A 27P
While the Oilers themselves have 3 prospects out scoring him:
- 11th Gernat 53GP 8G 39A 47P
- 14th Davidson 62GP 12G 32A 44P
- 25th Marincin 52GP 9G 26A 35P
Then you have you have the big kid still only 17 in Rhienhart(6'4" 202LBS) who the scouts say is the most physically ready for the NHL sitting at:
- 31st Rhienhart 51GP 12G 20A 32P
By the way Hugefemale dog those are the numbers in the range of Weber in his draft year:
- 2003-04 Weber 60GP 12G 20A 32P
For me I will stick to my guns that the Oilers need Rhienhart over a smaller Murray.

- longbottom

So Murray has scored 5 less points than Rhinehart in 12 less games? He's got a ppg pace, and for that matter is just as much in line with Weber's draft year as Rhinehart is. Not to mention Marincin, Davidson and Gernat having seasons on par with Weber's post-draft season, which should indicate either the Weber comparison is useless, or we have three dmen destined to be top 5 in the league.

Neither appealing to points, nor to a junior-level Weber comparison really helps you here. I'd be happy to nab Rhinehart if we traded down, but not in the 2-3 position.

the oil need 3 things...
Solid defender
physical top 6 player
goalie
then they might make the playoffs.

Is it just me or is MacIntyre faster than Smyth?
I thought Renney would have learned from Quinns mistake by putting JF on a line with Hemmer, why would he even try Petrell with NUGE and Eberle?

IMO management should look at the Ranger/Bruins and build a similar team, a strong defence/goalies and physical forwards that can score.

Keep in mind that Reinhart is playing on one of the best teams in the league and Murray is playing on one of the worst teams in the league. I bet if they switched teams Murray would have twice as many points as Reinhart.
