Oh yes if you could show me exactly where I said that? Nice try though!!

How old are u?? Relax.

Just cause u use the word might or maybe... The backbone of your argument is still ovechkin or weber, which u keep reiterating over and over.

This makes zero sense in comparison to this discussion

No I am not saying either but would you take a chance on a guy being a weber or a Crosby or Ovechkin? 99% of ppl would take a Crosby or Ovechkin before taking a Weber or Doughty!! That is the point!
- undisputed_8821

I'd take Weber over Ovechkin any day of the week... Especially considering our needs.

Your getting way ahead of yourself. U sound very naive.
Hes never played a game in the show.
Not to mention the oilers could use a dman in 6'7 myers whos a true number 1 more then another small skilled winger

- hugefemale dog77

So you are saying Myers WILL be better than Yakupov? Maybe it is me being naive...... Can you not name call or change a guys words to benefit your opinion?

I would on the Oilers now, but if things were reversed and we had a solid D and needed scoring I wouldn't hesitate to take OV

Myers is a PROVEN NHL stud D-man.
Yakupov will probably be a NHL star, but.....
The Oilers have small skilled wingers and severely lack a #1 D
Myers helps the Oilers more than Yakupov
Sadly Buffalo will not trade him

To me proven is a guy that's played at least 5 seasons and been strong in every one of them. The NHL is like any other professional sport in that hype will often overshadow substance.

Not to say that I wouldn't like to have Myers. Obviously I would like to have a 6'7 dman that is also mobile and can score. But saying he's a proven stud dman is still premature. if you look at the numbers he's dropped off since his outstanding rookie campaign. It's the period of time in an NHL dmans career that seperates the Chris Prongers from the Tom Potis.

Probably older than you!! I would also venture that I have watched more hockey as well!! Not to mention played a a decent level! The point is I think you guys are overestimating Myers based on the Oilers needs! Yes the Oilers NEED D but there is NO WAY Myers is a better choice than an Ovechkin, Crosby or Yakupov!

You know whats funny here is all you guys that have this big boner for Ryan Murray from Everett. He is supposed to be this offensive wunderkid. He is 6'1" 195 and sits 38 in the WHL for scoring among defencemen:
-38th Murray 39gp 9G 18A 27P
While the Oilers themselves have 3 prospects out scoring him:
- 11th Gernat 53GP 8G 39A 47P
- 14th Davidson 62GP 12G 32A 44P
- 25th Marincin 52GP 9G 26A 35P
Then you have you have the big kid still only 17 in Rhienhart(6'4" 202LBS) who the scouts say is the most physically ready for the NHL sitting at:
- 31st Rhienhart 51GP 12G 20A 32P
By the way Hugefemale dog those are the numbers in the range of Weber in his draft year:
- 2003-04 Weber 60GP 12G 20A 32P
For me I will stick to my guns that the Oilers need Rhienhart over a smaller Murray.

Not only are you an oiler homer, you are an oilking homer. Rhienhart is a fine prospect, but he's not even in the discussion for a top 2-3 draft pick. This reminds me of the musil for 1st overall nonsense that a poster from another site was pushing all last year.

If rheinhart played for the hit men, you wouldn't even know who he was..

What is actually funny is that any D drafted probably won't impact the team for 2 or 3 years anyways. Yes there is a chance Murry or even Rhienhart could step in right away but it is doubtful. No matter who is drafted I hope the Oilers make a play for a top pairing guy.

shift post?? Can you read?? Can you in fact comprehend what you read?? It was stated that Myers is worth the 1st overall pick which is going to be Yakupov.......? Should I type slower??
- undisputed_8821

You are too dense to be here...the oilers are not getting yakupov. Cbj has that. On top of that yakupov does not fill what the team needs...defencemen. Top 2 type d-men...the timelines is getting compressed for the rebuild. Giving up the 1st round pick this year to get Myers, a guy that fills the teams needs in everyway ( top 2 dman that is nhl level), is completely acceptable.

Were you the same guy saying RNH didn't fill a need that we should have drafted Larsson?? I don't care what the team needs are you draft BPA BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE!!! Just because you need a 3rd line winger do you draft a 3rd line winger with a #1 overall pick!! AGAIN typing slowly for you idiot....... Would you trade Crosby for Myers??

Both you guys are taking each others opinions too serious. Either option is great. The Oilers NEED D now and Myers would bring that. Don't exactly need another small winger but you can never have too much skill. I don't see the point of getting so worked up about something we have no influence on. Trust Stu will make the right call where ever we pick

You are so retarded you must wear a red helmet even to bed...

Let's put it this way...Edm is not going to finish last...they very well can finish higher than 29. The chances that they even get the first over all are not very good, exceptionally poorer for each spot they rise. You treat it as if a trade made is automatically going to be 1st over all. then your next mistake is that it will guaranteed to be Yakupov. the season is not over and placement is not defined.

Now the team has more pressing needs than a skilled winger and it is very likely that the draft pick is in play for trading. Button to Beachrocks, if it actually gets traded, it will be for a defenseman.

Next, it is still not even a player, and that player has NOT established himself at teh NHL level. Myers has. So stop with the pedantic "Would you trade Crosby? Would you trade OV." It is a total strawman argument. I WOULD trade Hedman or Duchene...I WOULD trade Bogosian or even Doughty...I WOULD trade Van Riemsdyk or Turris...I also would trade: Daigle, Brian Berrard, Stefan, DiPietro.

30: 25.0%
29: 18.8%...where Edm is right now
28: 14.2%..very well where they can make it...4 points off and 2 games in hand
27: 10.7%..outside chance but possible
26: 8.1%...outside chance but possible
25: 6.2%...10 points is too much for sure
24: 4.7%
23: 3.6%
22: 2.7%
21: 2.1%
20: 1.5%
19: 1.1%
18: 0.8%
17: 0.5%

So chill the fuk out...
