Do you know exactly what happened? I don't.I don't know if he wanted to stay in Vancouver and I am pretty sure you don't know either. Ask about his skill set his style of play or his favourite colour .I can promise there is no one here on HB that knows what went on between AV and Hodgson.

All kinds of stuff is still hitting the media, the Buffalo fans are still asking questions, we are facing eachother tomorrow and it's only 4 days after the trade on a trade rumour site. I don't understand why you would complain about this on the Sabres thread.

Still think he is a great player but he is wearing different colours now so I will let Sabre fans pump his tires.

Maybe Canucks fans can shed some light on this a bit. Was he really unhappy in Vancouver? I know he had back injuries, but what are they (media) getting at regarding his anger with the team and his back injury?
- The_Inkwell

His injury was misdiagnosed by several docs, including the team docs. When he finally got that straightened out it was just like he lost a year.

AV did say that he thought that he might have been blaming the injury too much for being injured in 09, but in Van, its where "everything" is going to be a story.

Speculation was rampant, but here's the thing. The kid is a politician's son. Now, thats not an indictment, but supposedly he is a "hands on" kind of parent. ( allegedly, you know how these things are reported in the media ). There is no denying the fact that the kid changed agents 3 times in 4 years. That might speak to that for sure.

So, thats what they were asking about. And to answer your fellow posters, no, most sane ( again, there is such a thing as a stupid minority of a fanbase, I think we all know that ) Canuck fans are not all over the kid.

A hockey trade was made. I for one am quite happy with what we got back, and if all the rumours about his dad and agent ( I do think the kid just plays. He was never any bad kind of guy in the media at all in that regard...) are even half true ( and go Google a story from his agent Rich Winter's little Twitter adventure!), then GMMG did an excellent job giving him sheltered minutes and making him a very attractive asset, selling high, and keeping a tight lid on everything involved in the trade, then all the better.

It will be interesting to see how he does long term versus higher line competition, instead of the bottom six versus most Canuck opponents...

Sorry, rambled on. But there's the synopsis.

Yikes!!! that post was exhausting....LOL....Canucks & Sabres both received some darn good players.....Let's hope the Sabres make the playoffs, and lets hope the Canucks make it to the Conference Final (at least).....Kassian and MAC look good so far......Hodgson?....don't know yet(for me anyways)

Seriously can we stop this? Can Gillis, Darcy, or Cody just come out and say yes or no? I get the feeling that maybe he did ask... If he didn't wouldn't you just say no? Nothing to lose in just saying no... If he said yes that could mean way to much pressure on him...

i think he didn't directly ask for a trade but definitely suggested he wasn't happy with his role and instead of taking a player who's goals didn't match the team's on a playoff run he went looking for what he needed. the fact it was a very late trade has me thinking buffalo wasn't going to give up gragnani until the last second.

calder candidates don't get traded mid-season like ever so there almost has to be more, it seems like a trade demand disguised as a hockey trade

i don't like the question dodging hodgson and his agent have been pulling, rick nash is the captain of his team and franchise player and was plenty open to talking about it so why can't the hodgson camp

.....seriously who cares, what's done is done. It's his life and should be able to handle it however he chooses. He said he loves vancouver, the fans, and his time there. He has been professional and doesn't owe the fans or anyone an explanation.

I always love this kind of dismissiveness.

Like you would not be losing your lunch if the teams were flipped.

We have moved on, and you are right, whats done is done.

But if someone wants to get out, they usually have the stones to say so, not this passive aggressive BS.
