Ahh. I have stopped listening to WIP (don't tell Glen!) and don't read the comments elsewhere. So I didn't realize that had moved into some people's view of reality. Like I said, dolts!

there was a play in the Sharks game where Kubina had the puck inside the zone with a guy maybe 5 feet in front of him and instead of taking the shot he held the puck and eventually put it down low. Tim tweeted something to the effect that Kubina should have blasted the puck. I responded with yeah so he could have hit the sharks shin pad and had the puck go back for an odd man break.

I'm not talking about the people here who were being tongue in cheek about it -- I'm talking about ones that actually believed it.

Wow people actually believed that? We were all joking about JVR avoiding the trade deadline. Tough season for the guy. Hindsight is 20/20 with that contract. I have no doubt he could and probably will live up to it but if the negotiations had occurred later it would have been for less time and less money.

Dude if im going to pay 50$ a ticket to sit in the last god damn row...i want to see jvr (frank)ing playing like simmonds...i want the kid to do well dont get me wrong. I seriously think he lacks that fire.

I've seen JVR have an impact on games. Most recently the rush where he set up Simmonds for the OT game winner. I've seen JVR have an impact and be the best player on the ice in the playoffs. Last night JVR slides and gives up his body to block a shot, and then from his knees, while in what was probably immense pain, clear the puck from the zone. Not sure how that tranfers to questioning his heart.

In my opinion JVR isn't supposed to be Kane. He's supposed to be JVR. And I'm willing to give him the time to become what JVR can become.

The whole "SHOOT IT!" when the player clearly has no shooting lane really gets on my nerves. It's a good thing they don't allow handguns in arenas.

Yeah. That seems to be a specialty of some defensemen.

I just remember that Dan McGillis for a while back then used to always be in motion with the puck so his point shots got through and didn't go bouncing back for the inevitable shortie against. I'm more likely to be shouting Move move (which sadly sounds like shoot, I suppose) when they are static on the PP.

How many times is Lava going to need to take a time out within the first ten minutes of a game before people start looking at the fact that the coach has habitually failed to get the team ready for the start of a game?

She's need a little more seasoning in the minors.

How is time the problem if he's only 22, and in his 3rd full year? Players take time to develop. Some faster than others. He's not a bust if a player drafted ahead or after him develops faster. That doesn't make any sense.

As in any organization, a team needs diversity in the styles of players on the ice and the personalities of players off the ice. If you had all Hartnells and Simmondses, you'd be dying for skill guys. All Dannys and Gs, dying for physical forces. It's silly to assume that they should all be like each other. Only in desire. You want them all to want it. But how they show it will and should differ from player to player.
