Yeah, I remember he hates that they always show the Flyers getting scored on in commercials...wife's birthday? No (frank)ing clue

Did you hear Bill Clement, after the game last night, talk about the Flyers flipping the switch? He may not write here any more, but I think he lurks.

Been a crazy day but we got spared the tornado mess here in Lexington, KY. Plenty of poop hit the fan all around us, but we dodged the bullet. Time for more bourbon .

How does Burke get spared? He didn't start the fire, but he sure hasn't put it out in TO.

Thank you father.

The problem is that people just take what they read in the papers and listen to on WIP and see on CSN DNL and just take it as gospel. It is like they are reviewing War And Peace after they read the forward.

Its funny, the only reason I follow Barkann on Twitter is so I can insult him every day.

I heard Cataldi actually ripping Doug Collins today, questioning whether he was a good coach or not.

He is a bomb thrower. I have lost much of my respect for Morganti and Jonesy for even being associated with him.

Does anyone have video of Jonesy and Milbury almost coming to blows?

I'm not talking about the people here who were being tongue in cheek about it -- I'm talking about ones that actually believed it.

I Have to admit that I am in the"plausible explanation" camp. I don't put these guys on pedistals. They are human beings. We will never know if that Schenn trade was all but done, however, it seemed highly likely. But I think for you to take exception to the opinion is a little offensives, Bill. All of the opinions are what keep this blog going. Your's happens to be expert opinion, but it doesn't make mother's points of view invalid. And quite frankly, it's a bit self-absorbed to act that way. I have been an HB fan for quite some time and respect your opinion, but would think you would do the same for your followers without ridiculing them. I mean, next thing you know you might expect us to kneel and kiss your ring like your brethren Panotch...and you see how well he is followed.

A "plausible explanation" that JVR faked his concussion to avoid being traded? Dude comon. Anyone who had that opinion not only needs to be ridiculed, they need to be abused constantly until they go away from here, never to return.

Anyone who had that opinion does not deserve respect.

Yeah, it's literally a bad opinion. Baseless, ignorant, emotional, and immature. I'm not exactly sure what this "kiss your ring" thing is about, either. If I had to rate his post, I would probably give it an F-, with the comment, "Please don't see me after class. Ever."

So now you are going to tell me they are gods and not human? So DeSean's play wasn't impacted by his contract situation? Cleearly they are robots devoid of all emotion. Call it unprofessional. Call it selfish and immature. But don't think it doesn't happen. That is how you end up with press conference's in the driveway doing sit ups. And agents having to do damage control later. Hockey players aren't immuned. Look at Carter and Richie who's carousing lifestyle got them a oneway ticket out of town. If you are so jaded to think this impossible I would suggest you'd opinion to be a bit more suspect than mine. So Dude c'mon...do you really think these self-absorbed proms dona's don't have a propensity to be a little bit on the self-preservationist side?

There is a distance wider then the Grand Canyon between letting a contract issue affect a player's play. And a player faking a concussion to avoid being traded.
What your discussing here, and what JVR has been accused of are two completely different things.
Let's not start on Carter and Richards and that BS. Because that's what it is, BS.

I don't see Bill ridiculing anything that doesn't deserve ridicule. Certainly athletes are human, and can be distracted by off ice things-contracts, sick children, marital woes, substance abuse problems, etc.-but that is a far cry from somebody suggesting a player is faking an injury to stymie a team's attempt to trade him.

Faking a concussion would be easier than faking a broken foot. The areas of gray with concussions, coupled with the precautions teams are taking make it easier. Let's all agree that there is no room for chance with a brain injury. Let's say the player is uncertain exactly where he is on the recovery trail. You start hearing trade rumors. You think that has no impact on your frame of mind. It could make you feel less than perfect from a mental capacity. These guys aren't horses that you load on a trailer and send off to the next destination. Look how Carter reacted to his trade. He stayed holed up in his beach house for a week until management came in to kiss his butt. So don't tell me these guys are above anything.
