Friedman can play circles around him in any genre, and he just knows more musically. He can compose entire songs as well, Kirk barely does, and Marty just gets so much more out of his solos too.

He just has such a knack for getting it right, Kirk is more predictable, he has some (frank)ing awesome solos but not nearly as many as Marty.

Friedman is self taught and still better, what annoys me with Kirk's use of effects is that it sounds annoying and I want to kick him. I don't mind that he uses it, but use properly for (frank)'s sake!

Not the same thing, it doesn't matter how many drums or cymbals he uses, it doesn't change what he's doing. I should have said effects I guess as opposed to equipment.
