I'll take the two points. Solid game for Bryzgalov, Meszaros, Read and a few others. Really poor play in their own end though. They continue to be a poor defensive team. The good news is that the Isles were worse defensively. Don't see any signs of the Flyers tightening up defensively.

Sure why not after getting his 500th career point.

I thought maybe Bryz but his numbers are not all that great and are deceiving though because he played well and kept the flyers in the game early in the first period.

Looked pretty good tonight. Lets see if they can win back to back. Defensive pairings seem to be looking more comfortable, hopefully.

The forwards are especially guilty of not dropping far enough back, way too many opposing forwards open at the slot and before. Also, they have to play situational hockey better, up by two goals chip off the boards to get the puck out, too interested in touch passes trying to lead rushes up the ice. A no-no with a multi goal lead in the third period.

Yep.

I don;t even care about Bryz's numbers anymore. As long as he's making the stops he needs to make and making momentum saves as he did for most of the night tonight, he's going to be fine.

He had little chance on any of the 3 Isles goals, and made quite a few big stops. Let him finish strong and have a chip on his shoulder for the spring.

Some bad breakdowns in their zone. Bryzgalov might some tough saves, none of the goals he allowed were soft. That's a good sign. 2 points were needed, and they got them.

The JVR injury was a black cloud hanging over that game. Sucks it happens right after the trade deadline, had it happened before I'm sure Holmgren would have done something. Hopefully Wellwood can contribute like he was before he was sent back to Adirondack.

Say whatever you'd like about this team but I would much rather hang on to 6th place and take on anyone in the south pacific.

I thought they had their moments especially early but they also took out the dangerous guy in the slot and at the top of the circle quite a few times.
The Isles have some good young players and are going to get some good chances.
Bryz played well, Nabby let in a softy.

Forwards need to be more concerned with picking up a man on the backcheck, rather than skating back to a no mans land

The thing that drives me mad is they have stretches where they look solid and back check and keep opposing guys to the outside, and do what they need to do...and then a minute later it's a Chinese Fire drill

I agree. Too many forwards gliding in the defensive zone, with no purpose, staring at the puck. The whole team does it. There are grand canyon openings in the Flyers D zone. If they play the way they played defensively tonight against a top team in the playoffs, they'll get throttled. I'm not seeing any adjustments being made at all.
