oh, btw...roy and selanne "found each other" during the melee...they've got their arms around each other like bf/bf (1:35-mark)...not that there's anything wrong with that - b0s0o1
I saw that too! I was secretely hoping Selanne would uncork one and knock Roy on his ass |

So that a guy like Myers doesn't risk rebreaking his wrist.
Regehr went straight into the lockerroom after his fight. I couldn't tell if it was injury related or if it was just because his fight major was more than what was on the clock so he said f*ck it. - JVince117
Probably the latter |

So tonight is a 10:30 drop of the puck.
Who is staying up for that!!??
I think Miller's wife needs to live in Buffalo. He played great in front of her haha. |

I've been of the mindset that trading for an already drafted center prospect was the way to go. Granted, it's only a small sample size, but now that I've seen Hodgson play, this should no longer be an option. If you can use the two firsts to move up and take Grigorenko or Galchenyuk, fine, although I still have reservations about such a Euro-heavy draft class. More often than not, they turn out to be great regular season players and that's about it. However, Hodgson really puts them ahead. I totally forgot about him when thinking about an attainable young center.
My favorite thing I saw him do was on the powerplay early in the game. He got the puck at the halfwall and attacked the open spot and got quality shot off. I haven't seen someone on this team willing or able to do that since Briere. - buffalofan19
I think you might find that all/most the stanley cup winners over the past few decades had a #1 center that was drafted/developed through their own system. We don't have that, although grabbing Cody early in his career is surely a valuable piece to the Stanley Cup. |

for me, right now (and this will not stand forever,) kaleta earned his man-points when he got pounded by lucic...
time for some others to earn theirs |

I can agree with that.
I love Regehr's game. He is 22nd in the NHL for hits by a defensemen and 46th overall in all of the NHL. |

Anyone else notice that Weber is playing like a man lately? He's making it tough for forwards in front of the net, he takes the body in the corner, and he's made fewer bonehead passing plays coming out of the zone. Last night's tussle with Getzlaf is more proof.
I'm starting to think Regehr is rubbing off on Weber, and Mike is the perfect guy to model his game after Robyn...I hope this continues. |

I can agree with that. Weber is starting to play a lot better overall hockey. Wasn't it Weber that said that Regehr has put him under his wing in teaching him the game??
What were the d-pairings last night? |

I like what I saw from Cody. On our 1st PP, he had the puck at the top of the dot, make a quick fake and cut into the middle for a good scoring chance. Looks like he has a shoot-first mentality, which is great because everyone on our team wants to pass the puck into the net. His speed is pretty good too and that partial break that he got was almost a goal. |

I agree with this, and I hope Weber can learn from him and pick up on some things he does. As far as him becoming a better player, I think our entire defense has played very well the past 5 games or so. Finally theyre looking to be the defense corps we thought we were getting at the beginning of the year |

Myers - Ehrhoff
Regehr - Leopold
Weber - McNabb
If our defense continues to play like they are right now that could be a top 5 D Corps in the NHL. *hides for a few minutes* |

Miller was terrible after the Lucic hit until the last 20 games. Since then I bet he's been amongst the best in the league. - Pierceme69
I am guessing, with no inside knowledge, that he was minorly concussed on the play and the team either never knew or Miller never told them.
I think the Lucic hit, in combination with what happened at the end of last season, had a combined effect that took a while to shake off. |

I only caught the first 2 periods, but wow. That was the first time I noticed Stafford for good reasons all season.
Seemed like everyone picked up their game in the absence of Goose. They looked more like a team than before the deadline.
Unfortunately I missed all the "shenanigans" in the 3rd. But Tropp Plays his role well. Like the kid.
Looking forward to seeing this team for the last 19 games, especially how the 63-19-21 line works. - J03Y
It's funny because my 10 year old daughter who went to her first game last night leaned to me and said, "Why does #21 keep losing the puck? He's not very good is he?" I just lost it! |

I agree they could be one of the better in the league, maybe not top 5 but definitely top 10...and with quality goaltending that should be good enough.
Though I like Sekera in the top 6, pairing him with either Weber or McNabb on the 3rd pair gives them better puck movement from the back end. |
