I'm one of the first to throw Miller under the bus because of his contract but he's been pretty lights out lateley.. No better example than last night. His best game I've seen in quite a while. He stole the game for the entire 3rd period last night.

Somebody got a little West coast nookie !!

Anybody throw out there "He only played that way because he was trying to look good in front of Anaheim, so they will trade for him." yet?

If he gets the start tonight, it's obvious that they are showcasing him for California teams.

Haha. He was great last night. Shots were 20-4 in the third and the RPG line was getting to work down low in the offensive zone. If Miller is good and not great there might have been a different result last night.

Considering he either had one practice or no practices with his teammates he looked pretty solid. I hate to use a Garthism but the first thing I noticed was 'silky mitts'. He has a soft pair of hands and moves the puck smoothly.

On the first powerplay he displayed this along the half-wall. Seems to be able to maneuver his way in tight traffic. He also made a solid, crisp pass to Staff in front for an early quality scoring chance. He seems to back check pretty well for a young player. He displayed a jump when he got an almost clear cut breakaway in the 2nd ( I think the 2nd) and barely missed roofing it into an open net on the play. He also seems to have a knack for being around the puck in both zones.

The only time I saw him out of place was when Lindy mercilessly put him on a power play for a shift and he looked completely lost which is to be expected.

Have to admit, with that many great saves I was waiting for the softie. Good to see he kept those out too.

Best thing I saw, he shoots! Good shots from anywhere he was open. Nice to see.

Me neither. I recorded it and got up at 3:30 to watch it before work.

The plus is, I'll be exhausted tonight, in bed by 8 and I can do the same thing tomorrow morning.

Its maddening at times to see great save after great save and have the nickel & dime goal go in. Fleury was victim to that same fate frequently earlier in his career. He still lets in some puzzling weird angle shots, but he has cut down immensely.

The softies are what kill morale. If everybody on the ice perceives that they were doing their job and a goal goes in, it is deflating. When people blow their assignments and it goes in it makes more sense.

Not really the only thing thats obvious is the Sabres are playing thier best option at goalie in games where they need crucial points. Its to be expected were basically in our playoffs now.Id be shocked if we see Enroth now.

Enroth has played in enough games(20+). Miller from here on out.

I only caught the first 2 periods, but wow. That was the first time I noticed Stafford for good reasons all season.

Seemed like everyone picked up their game in the absence of Goose. They looked more like a team than before the deadline.

Unfortunately I missed all the "shenanigans" in the 3rd. But Tropp Plays his role well. Like the kid.

Looking forward to seeing this team for the last 19 games, especially how the 63-19-21 line works.

March 7th is the first home game back for the Sabres, against the Hurricanes. It is also the first half of a back to back as they are in Boston the next night. To me that seems like the perfect spot to slot Enroth in for a game.

It would seem so. Long road trip, plus the travel from Winnipeg to Buffalo isn't the shortest flight in the world. Might as well let him recuperate a bit for an even bigger stretch run.

How many headlines is that for this blog now? Three? I can't keep track. Why constantly change the title? Is it an attempt to trick people into clicking because they think he posted something new?

I've been of the mindset that trading for an already drafted center prospect was the way to go. Granted, it's only a small sample size, but now that I've seen Hodgson play, this should no longer be an option. If you can use the two firsts to move up and take Grigorenko or Galchenyuk, fine, although I still have reservations about such a Euro-heavy draft class. More often than not, they turn out to be great regular season players and that's about it. However, Hodgson really puts them ahead. I totally forgot about him when thinking about an attainable young center.

My favorite thing I saw him do was on the powerplay early in the game. He got the puck at the halfwall and attacked the open spot and got quality shot off. I haven't seen someone on this team willing or able to do that since Briere.

Hodge brought something to the table last night and the other guys fed off of it.

Myers and Ehrhoff continue to be the reason why Miller is playing so great lately.

For being a "soft team after trading Gaustad/Kassian" I liked the physicality that we brought forward.

I don't really think we won a single fight last night but it was great to see guys standing up for teammates especially Myers at the end and Weber against Getzlaf after running Miller.

Starting Miller tonight is not obvious that they are showcasing him.. it is OBVIOUS that we are trying to get into the playoffs IMO.

Miller is playing lights out again. He had 3 shutouts in the month of February alone!
