A year ago, everyone in here was calling Pominville over rated and had the worst contract on the team at 5.3M cap hit
I tried explaining that a guy who barely misses any games, is good for 20+ goals and 60+ points $5-5.5M is valuable. I wouldve put my money on him being named the next captain everyone else thought it was going to be Vanek.
Pominville is having another normal Pominville year and everyone loves him, probably because hes our point leader and just got the C. - theblueandgold
You could maybe argue slightly overpaid... but in todays market... there will always be guys producing more points making a bit less... or guys making more (like gomez) who is doing jack poop. He gets the job done... would take him on my team in a heartbeat.

Not everyone.
I believed he would be named captain as well. I also said that to replace Pominville on the roster you would need 2 guys, one that's going to score you 20+ goals as well as someone who can play big minutes defensively and that it would end up costing more to go that route than his current contract.
Gaustad isn't coming back. People should probably realize that. If you did your job to a pretty high level would you take less money the next year? Unless you want to spend $3 million a season on him he's going to go somewhere else. - Pierceme69
you better hope ryan doesnt talk him into coming back then.
Miller doesn't pay his bills. He's not coming back unless the Sabres give him $3 million a year. If they do that they are out of their minds. - Pierceme69
I'm just saying i dont know im personally but if ryan and he are best buds then it could happen. but just incase he doesnt i've already ordered my new gaustad jersey .
Ryan Miller , after todays game you can say what ever you want , hecks , i feel your pain on goose , I watched him in Rochester and in buffalo. Now I'll watch him in Nashville , until he leaves there and goes who knows where .
I wish I could! there are no kids in my neighborhood... all the families around us had kids my age! Oh well, I'm gonna dable in some roller hockey for the first time in my life this summer... we'll see how that goes...
I need some new skates though, might have to make a financial choice of playing roller or buying new skates for fall/winter beer leagues... Gotta live the dream, ya know? - Fotes18

I thought it would be Vanek, I still think Pomminville is too soft/peripheral of a player, but you know what he gets points, pk/pp and is a very responsible 2 way player and see-ing some of the contracts going around, his is seeming more and more reasonable.
However, it is amazing how getting in a winning groove, makes you forget about the bad "salary's"

Love how Tropp just gets to work. There is no 'Andrew Peters Dance'. He ripped off the elbow pads and just grabbed hold of the dude and started swinging.
He might lose more than he wins but he'll stick his chin in there.

100% agree. He isn't trying to make a statement, or send a message, or prove a point. He just wants to fight. I'm a big fan of tossing your helmet before you start throwing too.

Something I dont often say here .Miller you were the man last night. I want to also say this. The poopt the Ducks started at the end of the game was classless and beneath them.Anyone hold thier breath when Myers jumped in ?We dont need him fighting fresh off an injury.I loved the jump this team had tho they were like Bees buzzing around the only flower in town.

Sorry, I'll clarify.
To those posters who thought Miller needed to shut his mouth and stop the puck, does this qualify as him doing that?
- HonkFortheGoose
Excuse me goose but all we said is that he needs to "shut up and play hockey" My exact quote. Nobody ever said to "shut up and stop the puck". He is payed to play hockey not whine about his little friend being traded. This is one thing about him that pisses people off. He is a good player with a very big Yap.............

I'm one of the first to throw Miller under the bus because of his contract but he's been pretty lights out lateley.. No better example than last night. His best game I've seen in quite a while. He stole the game for the entire 3rd period last night.

A few days ago fans would have thought they woudl be out of their minds for thinking of trading Kassian away.
