There is a lot of hostility in this thread.... asked a simple question... got chewed apart for it and wanted to talk about some hockey and was told to STFU.

Perhaps I missed something?

Anyways, thought Cody looked solid tonight coming into a new team.. new system... and recovering from the biggest slap in the face hes ever received.

Since we're all so hostile in here, this is the part where I'm going to tell you that none of us care what you think.

He made $2.3 this year. He's not going to make less.
- Pierceme69

I almost wouldn't mind the 3 per year if it was just for 2, 3 years MAX. Certainly not 5-6 years. He's already 30.

You need only win in a shootout on the last day of the season.

Sorry, would be an ideal matchup for me. I grew up with Ed Kilgore.

It's looking more positive to be honest... with the way Washington and toronto are playing.

5 Pts back of Wash with 1 game vs. them. Beat them and bring it to 3, and be 3 pts. better than them to finish the year.
4 pts back of Win with 2 games in hand, win those two and beat them in the 1 game vs. them
1 pt back of Toronto with 1 game in hand, win that and 2 games vs. them, win them and you're better.

I know it seems like A lot but it's really not. The way the team's been playing, if they keep it up they have a real shot.

Gut check time in Buffalo... Let's hope they have the stones to battle for that spot!

I hope Nashville's not expecting him to score at all in the playoffs. He has 0 goals in 38 playoff games.
- HonkFortheGoose

In Nashville, he'll score at least 3 goals in the opening round. One off his ass, another off his ankle, and quite possibly one off his stick.

Maybe if he didn't make troll comments about how Miller played good for one game and the next 5 games when he gives up 5 goals we will want him gone again he would find it more hospitable in here. Especially since Miller has a sub 2.00 GAA in his last 15 games.

I guess I just don't see the need. I understand he was well liked, but I think it's easier to replace faceoffs and PK time than it is to replace a guy like Roy who (not this year) scores in the .8 PPG range.

I only troll oilers boards.... I like your team... but Miller is extremely overrated... 1) Ward.. 2) Miller... its just my opinion. Half of you guys wanted Miller gone a month ago... so its not like I'm way out of line here.

Miller is the only person I would bash... think you got a great player in Cody Franchise... and wanted to talk about tonights game a bit.

Personally, I feel like if you can't post what team you're actually a fan of, then you're opinion means nothing to me. That may sound terrible and arrogant of me, but it's how I feel. Either you're a fan or your not. Nobody is just a fan of the sport with no favorite team. Especially since hockey is considered a niche sport.

He say's GAA is a team stat... Sorry can't agree... What seperates the bad from good from great in goaltending are the ones that can bail their team out of a bad shift, period or game all in order to steal 2 points...

We arguably watched the greatest point stealer in NHL history in Dominik Hasek at his finest, and people in the area still whined and wanted to trade him... I try to seperate myself from the ignorance though. BTW I am in no way calling Miller Hasek, he still would have to do a lot more for me to even breath their names in the same sentence.

Well, I certainly wasn't one of them. 1. because I'm not a guy and 2. because I knew he would pull it together.

It would be one thing to come on here and bash Miller if he had a bad night, but he didn't. He stole this game for the team. So your comments tonight are completely unwarranted.

You are going to love cody... his shot is so underrated... we had a coach here who did not like him and had him in the dog house. He would play lights out all game.. but only manager 12 minutes of ice team. And god forbid he make a mistake... then he would only get 8 minutes.

He has great vision.. defensively is still learning... but don't let people make you think he can't make a good defensive play. He isn't strong on the puck.. but in most cases will be able to stick handle his way out of trouble. What he lacks in speed he makes up for with vision.. amazing hands and smarts. He was voted smartest player in the CHL.. and greatest leader. That is not something to take lightly.

For the record I have never ever wanted to trade Miller... Just don't think it makes sense IMO.

I've seen far too many goalies steal big games and even steal playoff series all on their own.... Heck I think Miller stole atleast two extra games vs. Philly last year... He'll never get any credit for just how good he was in most of that series last year... it was the team that didn't respond in that series, not Miller.

If the Sabres relocated, I would not adopt another team. I'd just be a hockey fan.

Sabres4Lyfe.

Also, solid game tonight, Hodge was noticeable, and at the very least didn't make any glaring mistakes or take any stupid penalties. Nice shot on the two on one with Ennis, too. Maybe Miller will be more focused now that he's not gushing over his drama with Goose every night, it might stay off his mind.

I could tell tonight even with minimal passes he has great vision and skill with moving the puck in a positive way.

I found the most impressive plays tonight were how fast he seemed to get the puck off his stick and make the right pass, despite never playing with these guys and never playing in the system, that to me just shows how good his vision is and can be.

Well I've been around long enough... the team name is a joke from a while back... the people I talk to on a regular basis know which team I cheer for.. and I spend majority of my time in the canucks blog.. a little in the main.. and then occasionally in others depending on the time of night and where the action is.

I'm sure you all think Luongo is overrated..

Well, we won't have to worry about that. Not for a long time at least. I hope to be dead before that's a possibility.

I thought Hodgson had exactly the type of game he should. He played a solid game that showed he has skill and there are good things to look forward to. He didn't absolutely kill it and get everyone over excited. I think if he plays like that consistently the points will come.

You don't need to tell me that. I live in market of my favorite team and still pay for the Center Ice package. I actually have to watch movies like Miracle during the summer because I start to go through withdrawl.

Sad to see him go... but understand the point of the trade... just don't agree with the timing of it. Thought it was a solid trade for both teams and hopefully both teams can benefit from it. Buffalo is the only team in the east that has been successful in recent years that I do not dispise.
