I always say that points are a direct result of the people around you as well... The only way you can get those apples are if someone is consistently converting those chances... I like our wingers and have felt for a while now that our wingers have what it takes, but our center position has been so weak they haven't gotten the true opportunities to be great.

I really like Cody as a player. I might not have his poster on my bedroom wall and satisfy myself to it like many a Nuck fan, but still think he's a very good young talent. Looking at it from a realist based on the Canucks current roster however he was not going to realize his potential here, and we would have lost him for next to nothing anyways. It ticked me off when one analyst talking about the trade and the way Hodgson might struggle with the fact that he's going from the best team in the NHL to a team on the outside fighting to get in talked about how it might be tough for him to go to a team that just won't compete for a cup this year... Who say's they won't? How many teams have we seen with hot goalies make deep runs... if a goalie is hot and the team chips goals in then why can't this team make a run? I'm not saying it will but to say it's out of the question sort of made me angry.

I see him a one part to a team that is still going to be making changes. I think this team is going to be moving in a slightly new direction, and he was the first step that way.

Not deep enough to go the distance as we all know that the playoffs are a gauntlet and you need to be 25 good roster players deep to make it!

We do play Boston the last day of the season, so there's a good chance it could go to OT or a shootout. Seems to be how a lot of those games end.

I don't think you're trolling by stating the obvious. We're probably still at a 50/50 split in here of people who would rather they don't even make the playoffs. I think those of us who still hope they get in would be thrilled to get to the second round let alone the cup finals.
