Everyone needs to go watch the movie "Goon" immediately!
- BleedBlueandOrange

been flip flopping over spending the $10 to watch it on demand, or wait for the dvd in 2 months for likely the same price.

as long as they keep having "super heroes" and "spongebob" nights families will go, at a discount. Only attended 1 game this season, free tickets, AND I left early, naturally. So sad that they have to have these types of promos to get people to show up when icing a btter product would negate that theory

I watch the games and look at the crowd and think why are there soo many people? I think there is a problem with my TV. I do not have kids but I would like to think I would still not take them to see this team. Spongebob or no Spongebob even if Linda Carter in her prime was there.

Many of us are not expecting Superstar players being aquired. I'm not looking for the Islanders to lead in playroll or even close. The Isles hire a real coach and Snow trades some of the picks and prospects for real talent and brings in some size and toughness and Snow and Wang will have plenty of support. Right now they are making Kate Murray look good by having a lousy team. Wang can not expect a lot of support when he has a lousy product.

but they wont get "tough" as long as the Donger dislikes "fighting". It's a viscious, self inflicted catch-22 no?

Your right forget the fighing at least get some big forwards or dmen who hit. I just love how Wang is worried about not having fighters instead of worrying about having a good team.

I completely agree with that. Snow has to know this as well. I give him 6 months. He has earned the right to see it through only if he stops sitting on his hands.

I'm not sure how Wang and Snow can take the losing? Even though Wang does not love hockey how could he not be bothered by owning a lousy team every year? There should be some pride involved.

Watching Capuano's post game interviews has become my favorite part of games now. How many times is he going to say the same shat? Outmuscled, outworked, outsized... He should just hit play, stop, and then rewind for the next game. It's sad, funny, and disgraceful all rolled into one fat man with a terrible hair cut.

Wow bailey gets to play with 2 good players 2 games in a row, and whad'ya know he scores in both games
- kindlyrick

You guys could bailey bash all year but I said from day one. Give this guy some skill linemates and u'll see what he can do. It's two games he has been on 2nd line and he has been one of our best players.

We need an NHL coach to suceed.

Reason why we lost last night was simple. Laviolette fired up his guys in intermission. Philly is bigger and more talented. Nabby was not sharp last night. 2 goals were disgusting. Especially the jagr one

As for strome. H e should stay in jrs next year and niƱo should play in Bridgeport for full season.

Let's not go that far. Plenty of happy medium's instead. I'm looking for a GM who knows when to keep a player and when to move a player and who will not wait until the wheels fall off before making moves and a GM who hires a real coach.
- ses111

The first thing that needs to happen is Wang hiring a President of Hockey Operations. He needs to hire an old-school, hockey man, a guy with lots of front office experience and respect around the game to run things. After a guy like that is in place, let him make the call on Cappy and Snow.

The problem is not replacing Snow or Cappy. Its who's going to make the call on the replacements. If Wang is making those decisions, the replacements will be no better than Snow and Cappy.

I made a rant of a post the other night about this. I think he doesn't get enough credit for the good things he HAS done. At the same time, he has to upgrade this team via free agency and if he can't, make trades. There is enough talent here now where two moves and a good coach could turn this around immediately. But he needs to do that and Wang needs to let him. Big ifs.

Eh, no GM is all bad all the time, but taken as a whole, for all the talk of progress this year, this team will likely finish exactly where it did last year in the standings, which is the same place it finished three years ago, with a "worst in the league" sandwiched in there somewhere as well. Not very impressive. He's really gotta pull a rabbit out of a hat to turn this thing around by next year, and hey, I hope he does it.

Even his strong point...the drafting...I look at our crosstown rivals and I see darn good youth making more of an impact now, with more in the pipeline coming soon. And that's without multiple years of top-five picks. I don't know...I'm probably just frustrated, both with how bad the team has been and that anything done to improve the team on Long Island happens at a glacially slow pace. It's friggin' March before a team bouncing along the bottom of the standings all year decides "Hey, maybe we should try shaking up the lines!"

That's it in a nutshell. Garth's track record speaks for itself. The farm system is better now than it was when he took it over. The team's core young players are solid. But the team hasn't made any progress in the standings since Garth took over. Every year, its a bottom-five finish. At some point, Garth has to get called out on his record. People have to stop saying "well, he's drafted well and restocked the system with prospects" and start judging him on results.

One day, Garth is going to have to make a bold decision on a trade or a coaching hire or else the bottom-five finishes are going to continue.
