i think its a good problem to have..if you guys ever want to come up hit me up on twitter i have some comp tickets still - NYI78
It's a great problem for sure, unless you're Mikko Koskinen.
I still think both should stay in the AHL next year. I'd like to keep Montoya around, or at least sign a similarly serviceable backup for the NHL. That way once Redlight Ricky hits the IR we can keep letting those two develop the right way down there.
I may try to make it there next season to catch a game, my good friend plays for Binghamton so it's always fun to get a chance to watch him play when he's close to home. |

I said last season that I thought, in the long run, Nilsson would be the best of the 3 goalie prospects
Maybe a lucky guess.. But it was hard to ignore his superhuman numbers from the SEL playoffs last year.
Side note: Anyone else listen to Tavares on Boomer and Carton this morning? - eichiefs9
JT was good on the show; Glad that the FAN finally had a Islander player on the show(let alone even mentioned). If it wasn't for Boomer Hockey would never be discussed. |

Nothing really of substance..your usual canned PR-friendly answers. Wants to see this thing through, bring the Islanders back to greatness, etc... Although Carton did bring up Parenteau and asked him what kinda nickname you give a guy named "PA" and Tavares said the nickname he has for him is one he can't say on the air
You can watch/listen to it here http://islanders.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=619944 |

No one said he was knowledgeable on the subject.. but if not for him.. hockey would never be mentioned at all.

Cmon, this is not true at all. I've heard him break down the game lots of times. I guess cause he's a Ranger fan, you have a gripe with him? Carton is a blow hard however, he hates on hockey & is in general a MORON. |

Boomer was a vocal proponent of the August referendum and keeping the Isles local, so he's OK in my book. |

He only breaksdowns Rangers game...when they loss he says very little...to be honest with you I stopped listening to them and now listen to the Mike and Mike show. I didn't like how Boomer and Carton were ragging on the Giants all year and then had to back pedal when the Giants won the Super Bowl. If I were the Giants I would leave FAN and go somewhere else... |

From what I have heard, The Rangers are Boomers #1 team in any sport. Footbal, baseball...Rag$ are his #1. Interesting considering he is a former quarterback. |

Still proves he's not just an "obnoxious Ranger fan". How many Ranger fans even tried to do anything? He also played in the Isles Skate with the Greats game. - eichiefs9
I think any true Ranger fan would have supported the referendum. If you love the Ragers, then you love hating the Islanders and would want to contribute in keeping them here. I hate the Rag$ more than any other pro team but I would never want them to leave if the tables were turned. |

Saw that. Good, he should be pissed off. I'd rather see him say that than just sit on his ass and accept it. |

Eh, I don't see that Nino has done a single thing wrong other than not be ready from a developmental standpoint yet. Whether you think he should have remained in juniors, or played with better linemates, all should probably agree that what has been done with him this year has been wrong, and it's even more wrong to just sit him in the press box for two straight games starting a day after the deadline to send him back down to juniors for a playoff push |

In no way to I want to re-hash the tremendous, day-long argument I stirred up here a few months ago, but I don't think it was the wrong decision to have him here this year. Crapping on a bunch of kids 3 years younger than you night-in night-out is useless. When you can just rely on your size over these kids to win puck battles you develop bad habits. There is, and always has been since we drafted him, an expectation of Nino to play a 2-way game. The fourth line is a fine place to learn the defensive side of the puck, while not feeling the pressure to rack up X amount of points. Power forwards take time, look at Martin. He's been slowly improving every year. As of now, I have no reason to think that Nino will be anything but fine going forward.
I totally understand the logic of how you, and I assume most, feel. I just think that we've all been spoiled by the learning curves of Tavares and Hamonic, and expect all rookies to step in right away and make a positive, noticeable impact. Bridgeport would have been the most ideal option, but that obviously wasn't one. |

Amen... U hear how annoyed he was that Carton said JT was arguably the best player in NY area. I got a kick out of that and Carton having to change.. Awful team to .500 team which was clearly talked about before hand. JT wanted no part of those clowns. (This is where all the Ranger fans/trolls talk about how many players are better than JT on their team).

Still, he could have been like that moron Opie, or Anthony, or whichever one it was who was bragging about voting no. - UIF Anthony was the one being a douche. He tweeted the pic of himself voting no. Opie is a big islanders fan and wanted to people to vote yes. Opie couldn't vote cause he lives in the city.

So spot on... He had to eat crow on Giants as did Carton who said he would quit the show if they won the Super Bowl. He had to eat crow on Eli too. They were practically killing him for Daring to say he was in Tom Brady's category. They are 2 idiots. |
