Agreed. - wolfhounds
I see two slashes and Giroux tries to put Malkin on his ass, and Malkin swings at Giroux. C'mon the Flyers made that kind of hockey famous. |

The Flyers broadcast had a very Root Sportsish replay there cherry picking the end of that battle. |

Flyer fans have a very homer view of it. Giroux slashes Malkin, who retaliates, then Giroux attempts to body Malkin who attempts to throw a what looks more like a punch than an elbow. But not once do they mention that Giroux was just as engaged as Malkin was. |

Nice close game. I'm happy the Stars pulled a point, most people would say the Pens are a little more loaded.
Tough to see Letang go down, but as a lot have said some responsibility is his as well. If you watch it slowed down there is some debate whether the point of contact was more chest then head.
Good exciting game to the end.
Edit: I forgot to add that Dan Bylsma is a class act. Most coaches would have been politicking for a suspension on that one, he was honest. |

Yeah, tons of buffalo fans wouldn't let it go, so it's nice to salt the wound a little.
Most have let it go now, maybe time to change, but I've had it forever.

Right, Malkin slashed Giroux, Giroux slashes back, they come together again and Giroux gives him a little body...then Malkin tries to take his (frank)ing head off...with his ELBOW.
You're defending that? |

Watch that video again, homer. Who slashes who first?

Also, homer, watch at 22 seconds of the video and see Malkin's hand come off his stick after he swings at Giroux.
For the braindead, that means it was ALL ELBOW.
That's a potentially career-ending hit if it connects, and you're defending it.
Disgusting.

You're right it was an elbow, I saw a better view. But still I stand by it, they both slashed each other and Giroux bodies Malkin. I don't care if it was "a little body" he was just as willing to engage as Malkin was. And then yes Malkin tries to take his head off. Superstars have to defend themselves from punks. Ask Gordie Howe or Mark Messier or Bobby Clarke about how they created space for themselves.
If you don't like a little aggression in your hockey, go watch figure skating. |

Or how about Coburns knee against the Sharks, or Hartnell kneeing MPS vs the Oilers. Those can both end careers. If you're going to fight against career ending injuries, then fight against all of them. Hypocrite. |

Don't pay any attention to these TROLLS. He is just another flyer's fan who think the world is out to get them. Let them on their site which they DO all freaking day.
I could just image the reaction these would have had if you or any Pen's fan posted something on their site. |

Come on, you know none of those hits matter becuz it was a flyer who did them. They should be allowed to do whatever they want, rules only apply to everyone else in their minds. |

You know, no offense, but coming in here and complaining about a completely unrelated (and comparatively very minor) incident between the Flyers and the Pens in a game that happened over 2 months ago really makes you come off as a whiny little b*tch. Get back to me when Malkin tries to bite Giroux's ear, then we'll have reason to talk.
If you don't have something relevant to discuss, how about you just go back to your own board and get back to discussing your lousy goaltending.
Have a nice day. |

For a city with a reputation for being tough they sure do have a lot of female doges. poop like that happens every game. The biting of letang hand and slew foots are acceptable. |

i am actually more concerned about letang for playoff hockey than an unrelated topic. the pens are fluctuating between 4th and 6th in the standings. he eats a lot of minutes, is an offensive threat and is in the line up for the shoot out.
i am guessing lovejoy is back in the line up for a good while?? i am also interested in mr shanahan's interpretation of this. i was surprised to hear milbury's stat on 1100 reported concussions. that was kind of shocking to me. i love when those hits happen but i also dont want to see those players off the ice for periods of time. i hope this is not a long term injury. |

Somebody said Letang was standing next to loud children after the game. At least he didn't have to be relegated to a dark room. I'll take any good news, no matter how small or insignificant.

No report on Letang. Just day-to-day. Was well enough to stand beside screaming children outside locker room. |
