I see no problem with habs having 2-3 years of losing, the wannabe fans and people that don't know that much about hockey will quit. Leaving us with better ticket prices, less stupid comments on trade/roster/coach, less useless media coverage (RDS talking about kostitsyn for 10 hours straight with 12 different "analysts", antichambre, attaque a 5, etc.)

- jdacosta

true enough, the real fans who like myself have followed the team for 22 out of my 26 years of existence would be a lot more grateful if they did it this way.

of course I'm just exposing 1 side of the medal, the direction would never accept less money in their pocket, which explains why they refuse to go "reconstruction route"

I like this comment. I don't necessarily agree with it. But I like it.

well, your statement is a contradiction.

He did apologize--because he was forced to by those who hold him accountable for his decisions.

if it wasn't just business, he'd have never have made the decision in the first place.

And you got it right when you said he was just catering to the media and the public--just business.

- EricEngels

To me just business would be not giving a poop when the public is complaining, trying to manage a team and create the best on ice product without the input of the fans and media, would be just buisness.

I see what you are saying, as catering to a client is business, but not when it is the driving force behind all the decisions you make.

When it comes to managing a sports team, the client is not always right, as the client is too emotional.

Build a winning team and the client will love it no matter how they felt about your previous decisions.

Backtracking and apologizing for your decisions is bad business not just business.

The Ottawa Senators saved Murray. They've been a good team, well coached, and their best players have been their best players.

Usually those 2 go hand in hand. Clouston was horrible. MacLean has changed everything in Ottawa. The players admit it. Murray admits it.

looks like we have a winner...

but I actually believe Muwway got unfairly criticized...Muckler's the one who (frank)ed it all up...

Murray's done a solid job fixing it, and this year we are seeing some of the moves he made in teh past years start paying off...and next year we'll see even more of it as some of the picks he's made in the past start contributing more.

a GM who thinks of it as just business would not had apoligized for hiring an anglo coach.

Seems more like catering to the media and public.
