He's not looking to squeak into the playoffs just to be killed.
- weirdoh

So basically, Burke did nothing to help his team get into the playoffs because he was afraid the Leafs will get their asses kicked if they get in?

Makes sense, I guess.

Yeah, he's from Switzerland.
And BTW, his arm is now stronger than any pitcher that hasn't had the surgery, so unless he trips over a bat...

Or gopher hole next to a ladder, or fixes the garage door temporarily, or makes supper for his family and cuts himself with a knife.

BTW - win or lose the game, Habs still win, and Leafs lose.

A win sinks the Leafs even further.

A loss helps us get closer to a top 2 pick and the Leafs a worse pick.

That's all true, but you are a bit more grounded then the rest of the nation.

I know it's wrong to say, but I even hoped they made the playoffs this year. But after switching gears I couldn't win. One guy was even bringing up the Habs as proof anything can happen. I asked if he'd rather risk squeaking into the playoffs or fail miserably and get a top 10 pick. "Look at Montreal, they got a hot goalie and rode him for quite a ride. Same with Philly" For once, not trolling I asked what that got the Habs and Flyers. He replied "Last year they almost beat the cup champs". I checked again to see if he was a Habs fan, but he wasn't. I then stuck hot sauce up my urethra.

Why not? If you actually think the Jays have anything close to the pitching that the Nats have, I am happy to include you.
- hscesq

Is this bet about pitching stats or wins? I'm confused now?

p.s.

I never said that.

thx.

Nobody called him on that in the presser. I was hoping somebody would have. Simmons would have been a good one to ask but he might be perma banned from anything again...which isn't all that bad.

You're not thinking of the children, obviously your kid will never be a hockey star, he'll be some type of wussy Euro power forward.

FU, i have been inspired to create my very own little serial killer. Youre all welcome, thank the red man that spends your money for that one too.

Who said you said it?

And you're right, solid pitching stats never lead to more wins. Pitching is nothing in baseball.

Well, you could tell Burke really did not work that hard before the deadline, he still had the tie 97% on.

Too bad for Leaf fans, they might have actually done it this year.

Even worse, looks like Florida makes it in, so I believe that would make the Leafs the only team not to make the playoffs since the lockout.

If you can make the playoffs, but still countinue to develop as a team that is the best case scenario.

But their is nothing worse then management plugging holes just to make the playoffs, meanwhile never acknowledging their faults becuase after all they came within 1 goal of beating the cup champs... in the first round

Its been rather rapid as of late. Blames the media because his goalies (frank)ing suck. This guy guaranteed playoffs two years ago. Won't make a coaching change because Ron Wilson's wife makes an awesome thanksgiving turkey. He is a hypocrite and an ignorant (frank).

The problem is that the Leafs have been waiting for a hot goalie all year.

At this point, I think they would take one that is lukewarm.

Know what? Bet he refused to fight Wilson's wife after Thanksgiving dinner sucked last year.
