On WGR yesterday Hamilton said that in 30-plus years of covering hockey, he had never seen a player as scared to be hit as much as MAG - or something to that effect. I think Hamilton is a big blowhard, but it is telling to a degree. (Kid played great aginst Philly in the playoffs last year, can't take that away from him.)

I can't imagine Stafford is far behind MAG on the afraid to be hit list.

They had all the audio on the buffalo news site monday night. you may need to look back a few days, as there have been tons of articles about the deadline and the team (obviously).

His main reaction was that he was "Happy, really happy." In fact it really did sound like he hated how his situation was handled here. I'm not in the least bit sorry to see him go.

I dunno if he was "afraid" as much as he could be easily forced to turnover the puck with a little pressure. Afraid is a BIT of an exaggeration, I think, but I certainly can't remember him taking a big hit to make a great pass.
