Anyone know who the toughest guy in this upcomming draft might be or if thiers a Kassian type in this draft ?Love the kid whos name ive forgotten on the Canadians.
You guys got a stud for sure in Hodgson...but I'm pretty shocked you guys shipped out Gaustad if you were planning on shipping out Kassian. If just feels like in 2 years when you guys are ready to do something, you're not going have the grit, so you're going to have to trade for it...But for now, it's awesome.
Unless you'll resign Gaustad, I suppose. - clarkysduster
Gaustad has played well the past two weeks leading up to the deadline. Before that he played with grit about every 20 games or so. In the past 10 days He has become one of the most over-hyped, overrated players in the league.

Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff is unsure if Zack Kassian's physical game can reach its full potential.
"I liked what he was doing on the offensive side of it for the most part," Ruff said referring to Kassian's work prior to being traded at the deadline to Vancouver. "Good puck protection and hanging onto pucks. I've got a curiosity on where his physical game is going to go, and that's it. But he's a young player. You never know with young players. It's a little bit of hit and miss. There's a lot of inconsistency usually, so in his case there's a lot there. It's whether he's going to get it to that full potential." Kassian notched three goals, seven points and 20 penalty minutes in 27 games with the Sabres. The 21-year-old made his Canucks' debut on Tuesday night. He had one shot and a two penalty minutes in 12:27 of ice time. Kassian has also been credited with a total of 44 hits this campaign.

good I hope Kassian gets pissed and beats the crap out of Stafford, that's one way to get rid of him.

Its not like he wasn't on the Drury/Briere teams who had good playoff success. 0 playoff goals for a guy that wants that kind of coin is, well pretty much laughable. We are talking about a 38 game sample size.
Craig Adams can't score goals to save his life. In his last 224 regular season games he has 7 goals. He has 6 goals in 73 playoff games. Goose cant have a goose egg in that area if he wants the big coin for the role he plays. - Gunner Staal
I honestly don't know that much about Craig Adams to say whether or not the 2 would be comparable at all.
All I do know, is that I'm wasn't really expecting Goose to go out there and score goals during the playoffs. I was expecting him to shut down guys like Carter, Richards, and whoever else have you is on the first line of the opposition. If he can do that, then I'm ok with it.
Unfortunately for us here in Buffalo, he's asking for a pretty hefty price tag. But, if you look at it, the price of all players keeps increasing so most guys seem to be making more than any of us think they should. If it was a 2 year deal, I'm cool with it. If it's a 5-6 year deal, I'm not.

Hodgson outshines Kassian when the teams meet. - theblueandgold
I kinda hope that Hodgson has a fairly quiet game. Nothing overly spectacular, just a good solid game.
I feel like if he lights it up in some way too soon, the fan base is gonna go crazy and then when he has a few games where he doesn't score, everyone will be all over him.

Of course nothing good happened until right when I had to leave to go to work. It was really annoying. I missed all the good stuff. - HonkFortheGoose
It was just one of those moments that says alot about a guy and what hes about.Reminds me of Miller in his first loss and how he avoided the media behind the locker room doors. One of those kind of moments.Oh well Im glad hes gone.
