Ah.. the arrogance has risen once again.

how'd Vancouver do against Buffalo last year on their epic run to losing the Stanley Cup?

- JVince117

So we beat them in OT in 1 game.

I do believe we lost in the first round and they lost in the Stanley cup finals.

My problem is

Goose at 3mil or someone like Stoll or Kelly at 3mil?

I for one would take Stoll or Kelly at that price over Goose.

- dadeadhead

Definitely. If he really wants that much there is no way he resigns. Like I said, Miller being unhappy with him leaving could very well be a sign that he will not come back, even for a hometown discount.

Put a goon out there and rotate the extra playing time between some skilled forwards.

That might even keep the 4th line off of the ice in the last few minutes of a game where we're down a goal. Imagine that

Parros Yes
Tootoo (Frank) no

- ImThatGuy

As a Leafs fan, get Parros on our team. We need toughness and him and Mike Brown could have awesome stache power

Agreed with Kelly and Stoll also Steve Downie is a ufa I believe. He is comparable to Kassian anyways to me. I would like to see him added.

Props to Darcy Regier for the stealth-like, surgical strategy that he employed in order to extract the young gun from Vancouver. As the story goes, earlier in the day on Monday, Leafs GM, Brian Burke, had offered Luke Schenn to Vancouver, straight-up, in exchange for Cody Hodgson. When the Canucks said no to the deal, Regier swooped in, offered Zack Kassian and closed the show.
- GARTH

No, he didn't

"Basically what he told me is he's not offering me to anyone," Schenn told TSN.ca, "but sometimes I guess the odd team will call. He said he's not going to guarantee anyone they're not going to be traded and that's totally understandable. To me, that's part of the business."

Agreed.

I can't see him coming back either and honestly his contract demands if accurate are a joke. He'll realize this when the market opens on July 1st.

Downie is a RFA but I also REALLY like his game too.

he is another winger that can not only put up points but fights and has a very good check.

You have your Stache up there. We need ours here.

Can you imagine the stache battles everytime Leafs V Sabres.

It would be kind of like Ray V Domi. Except more epic, because of the staches.

Unless the cap plummets, he'll get a fat piece of cake. Just like somehow getting a first for him at the deadline. The supply on centers sucks. He'll get an overpayment from someone.

I even put a stupid laughy faced guy. I don't think you will find a Canucks fan around that has anything bad to say about Hodgson. I wish him all the best and hope he has a great career. Buffalo will love this guy.

Yea but we beat you in that meaningless game in the regular season that you still got a point in because you took it to OT.

SO that obviously means we win. So there!!!

Not sure exactly how bonuses work in the CBA, or if that will change at all in the new CBA, but would it be possible to resign him to a hometown discount salary of 1.5-2 million, and then tack on a nice sized "thanks for fetching us that first and moving" bonus? I'd love to have him back on the team, but as we agreed, anywhere in the ballpark of $3m is WAY too steep.
