Vanek might not hit too many guys, but you can't accuse him of playing small. He constantly drives to the tough areas in front of the net and takes an absolute beating every game, but he keeps going back there and gutting it out. If Stafford used his body half as effectively as Vanek we'd be saying his $4 mil contract was a steal.

Definitely true, he's just one of those guys that ought to be able to knock someone on their ass every once in a while, for $7+ million. He's got the size for sure, hitting's just not in his style of play, which gets frustrating every once in a while. That said, I'm a huge Vanek fan. Don't get me started on Stafford.
