pick your scenario for the next 20 games:
1. Sabres go 7-13, Hodgson has 17 pts
2. Sabres go 15-5, Hodgson 5 pts, sneak into the 8th playoff spot - buffalokb
that would be sick |

Lines at practice:
Roy, Pomm, Van
Hodge between Staff and Ennis
Lieno between Gerbs and Kaleta - Bleed B&G
So if Leino flops hard at center, do you think they bump him up to the 2nd line and drop Ennis down?
God, our top 6 is small and/or non-physical. |

Call me crazy but instead of having a true #1 line, I'd rather they have 1A and 1B something like this:
Leino-Roy-Pominville
Vanek-Hodgson-Stafford
To me that is a more balanced top 6 than what they are currently trotting out. |

I can agree with that. We have a lot of players that should be able to be pretty interchangeable. I think we really need to flip Roy and one of our picks into a bigger top 6 center though. Vanek is the biggest guy in that group, and who knows the last time he's thrown a check. |

ok...you're crazy...
haven't they been trying that--via 1a and 1b centers--for years?

Vanek might not hit too many guys, but you can't accuse him of playing small. He constantly drives to the tough areas in front of the net and takes an absolute beating every game, but he keeps going back there and gutting it out. If Stafford used his body half as effectively as Vanek we'd be saying his $4 mil contract was a steal. |

Yea they have, I didn't mean the concept was crazy, I meant my line combination.
Of all the combos lindy puts together he's never tried Leino-Roy-Pominville which I think would be effective. |

as soon as roy is dumped they can start doing stuff up the middle...

Ah yes I forgot about that little stretch...and you're right they did play well, not sure why Lindy isn't going back there now that we have another center to pair with Vanek. |

very simple...
the ennis, leino, stafford line was doing well...stick with it
vanek and pommer can work well with any center---put hodgson there
roy can anchor the third line
boyes centering the fourth |
