What the hell happened to this team...coming out of the all-star break, they were on fire....prison rape the Sens 5-0, take 3 of 4 points from the Pens, ass whip the Oilers........to the point where my buddy, who is a huge Bruins fan says "I would hate to have to play the Leafs in the playoffs".......WTF happened?
- PAT_THE_RAT_13

Overtime win = ass whip

If Burke had half a brain he would of traded Reimer for a 1st.
Then used his second to acquire Harding.

Too bad Reimer "is the real deal"

How do our four other GM's not see this?

1 player isn't the answer to the team's problems.

1 new coach and SEVERAL players are the answer. Mike Richards wouldn't have made this situation any better. Or Nash. Or Cater. Or whatever other player's balls you want to lick.

- dinglynutz

Yeah the leafs would still suck, and your right several new players are needed. However to say that any elite player wouldn't improve this team is just dumb. Leafs lack elite talent, and are filled with mediocre players. Look how easy Burke got mediocre players. Its easier to fill in the cracks then fill in the gaps. I do like what burkes done in reguards to actually having a farm system, but we still need a better core to build around.

There's nothing that can be done with this team.

RW shares your same optimism. Good influence to have in the dressing room and behind the bench. Instills a positive mentality

How many NHL players had a bad sophmore year and didn't get a bad concussion... Reimer will improve next year..

let's face facts. this team is one dimensional. it's unable to play without the lead....and unfortunately lately, we haven't been able to have one.

that....

or it takes ownerships incentive away from building a good on ice product. Fans will come regardless right?

- Pen15

You are spending to the cap regardless, why would you want to do that inefficiently. It doesn't make sense in any case. Building properly gets you star players, sells merchandise, gets you multiple consecutive years of playoff gate revenues in most cases. I understand both sides, but I don't see any proof in that argument.

Its a soft speed team. Once teams figured out how to stop our one dimension, and played us physically leafs confidence plumited (especially goaltending. did leafs really get scored on the first shot two games in a row?) The result is a team tanking at an exponential rate.

how many grinders does this team have? how many go to the dirty areas? how many win 50/50 battles on the boards?

one dimensional TEAM.

Take your lips away from the crack bowl... for a second.. but the Leafs have a few elite players..

Kessel & Lupul are the number one pairing in the league.. even the Sedin Sisters don't have have as many points after today is tallied..

Now I agree with you beyond Grabo.. Brown.. it gets a little weak...

but to say they have no elite players is foolish..

Steve Mason?
Pascal LeClaire?
Andrew Raycroft?
Jonas Gustavsson?

I don't dislike Reimer. In fact I admire his attitude and work ethic. I just think he will be a great backup for his entire career.

The fact is the term "Sophmore Jinx" was coined because 2nd year players have an adjustment.. add the concussion to it.. and you don't have to have a PHD to figure it out...
