Is there ever a time on this board where you come and contribute something meaningful. I mean, your pic is already a form of trolling. Why don't you make a comment that has some kind of substance?
- wendel13

I consider that comment meaningful tho...

Except that this turd of a roster was near the top of the NHL until midway through December.

The roster is certainly no worse than Ottawa, Florida, or Winnipeg. But those teams actually play some semblance of a complete, functional system.

We have capable players, just need to focus on any sort of defensive system... Wilson seems to forget that aspect of the game

Mike Richards

cause 1 goal in the last, what, 30 games would really help?

Oh, here comes the "We don't need Richards/Nash/Stastny/Ryan/Carter" attitude.

Let me guess, next you'll complain about how we don't need a cap hit like that, or that Kadri, Some D-man, and MacArthur is "overpayment".

I'm sorry to be a wiener about it, but I've read way too much of this stuff over the past week.

How? Are you really surprised a city of however million people can find 20,000 people to fill a building 40 times a year. If you don't renew your season tickets, how long are you waiting to get them back if the team gets good again?

Don't make backhanded insults and then try and pass them off as some kind of insightful commentary.

1 player isn't the answer to the team's problems.

1 new coach and SEVERAL players are the answer. Mike Richards wouldn't have made this situation any better. Or Nash. Or Cater. Or whatever other player's balls you want to lick.

He's getting the Poni/Stajan/Hagman bounce (ie. getting a few points based on ridiculously inflated ice time).

It's becoming clear MacArthur and Kulemin got the same benefit last year. Should have sold high...

Mike Richards

- Leeman4Gilmour

Mike Richards eh? Well what about more recently.... as in the deadline. Burke was saying (I think he plays the media with B.S sometimes) that he was offered 6 different 1st round draft picks for roster players. If its true, why wasn't one done? Surely if there was 6 different offers one was for someone expendable.

I heard 4.

Probably 4 picks in the mid-late 20s. I think Grabo should have been sold.

No way I want him for 5+ long term.

If the Leafs don't make the playoffs and Burke does not fire Wilson then Burke should be fired. It's just not working anymore. Also, if they don't make the playoffs then people will wonder about what the Leafs could have done with all the picks that they were offered for guys like Reimer, Grabovski, Kulemin and Schenn!

Agreed I like Grabo.. not at 5 mil.. but if we were closer than he is someone I wouldn't want to lose.. but since we are on a blueprint of ten years.. a first rounder would've been better.

Would be neat to go into the draft with like 5 1sts.

We can debate to what extent names like these would improve our roster, but this is an asinine statement.

I find it hilarious how we fans alternate between wanting to improve and falling in love with our mediocre junk, refusing to acknowledge the vast superiority of guys like Stastny, Nash, Carter, Richards to most of what we have.

If Dave Tippet can coach the Coyotes to continual 100 pt season surely someone can take the Leafs and get them in the playoffs. Unfortunately Burke is so pigheaded and blinded by his friendship with Wilson he won't do what's right for the franchise.
- LeftCoaster

Bring Jacque Martin in right now!!! If he could turn those awful Canadiens into a playoff team, imagine what he could do with the leafs

What the hell happened to this team...coming out of the all-star break, they were on fire....prison rape the Sens 5-0, take 3 of 4 points from the Pens, ass whip the Oilers........to the point where my buddy, who is a huge Bruins fan says "I would hate to have to play the Leafs in the playoffs".......WTF happened?

I don't buy that logic.

If fans stop showing up, management now makes desperation moves to get fans in the seats and the bottomline for owners causes irrational decisions.

If anything, knowing fans will show up regardless should allow you to make the necessary proper rebuilding moves you know are right. Fans will come regardless right?

- wendel13

that....

or it takes ownerships incentive away from building a good on ice product. Fans will come regardless right?
