I remember when he blocked a shot vs the Devils with his foot. Obviously my mind went straight to last year with Chara's shot. Glad its not too serious.

That's Callahan though, he's always going to be prone to those type of injuries; more so than the average player.

It's a gift and a curse, that fearless nature of his.

Yeah, but with this team where pretty much everybody blocks shots, it's could be an epidemic if we play Boston in the playoffs. By the end of a series like that, a few of our players could be missing limbs!

Indeed but it could be argued that there is no more important forward on this team than the captain.

That Capitals series would have been different if he plays in it last season.

Injuries will happen, let's avoid this occurring to key players such as he.

agreed, losing cally last year was devastating, hopefully we're healthy this year (knocks on crimso's head) when the playoffs roll around.

Aren't there 4 call ups allowed at the end of the season? It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the conference is locked up if players like Callahan, Richards etc get a game or to off down the last stretch.

Doesnt seem like Torts style. These guys are diving to block shots up 4 goals with 2 minutes left. I think he wants every game and every shift played 100%

I agree, but in the last week if there isn't much to pay for, you gotta figure Torts will work some days off for key guys

One thing is for sure, when NFL teams do it, it backfires 90 percent of the time.

Football playoffs are one and done

By the way guys, I know standings wise we have all been looking at our own division, the bruins, wings, and nucks but... Looking at the 8-10 seeds in the east our magic number for officially clinching is 8.5 games! (Leafs are the barometer Then we can officially talk playoffs baby!

I don't think it's much of an argument. You can make the case for Gabby but I believe Callahan to be the most important skater on this team, easily. Look no further than last years playoffs if you want to see how this team performs without Callahan in the lineup

With Scott practicing at forward and Cally not practicing, it kind of indicates that Callahan may be sitting out a few games

I love the look of our current record on paper...40-15-6,

To say this has been one of the best & most surprising season in NY Rangers history would be an understatement. But it will all be forgotten if we burn out in the playoffs, gotta keep the foot on the gas right till the last day of the season.

I would have no problem with him "resting" up in the Carolina/Tampa games, will def need him against the Bruins on Sunday. That's gonna be a big one, national game too.

At this point in the year I can only think of 91-92, 93-94 & 05-06 seasons as having such a positive feeling about a Rangers team.

Yeah I agree with sitting Cally too if he needs it. Can't risk him getting injured long term.

Good interview with John Scott over at nyr.com. Seems like a real funny dude.

I kind of miss checking the internet every 5 seconds to see if we made a trade.

Deadline is too early

I liked it better when it was 2 days before the playoffs started too.
