I seem to remember a similar play happening against Girardi in one game? Maybe the winter classic?

---

Too much fighting on this blog from Ranger fans... After a loss, maybe I can see it (Bones, Vin) but after a win? (Aldo, MM)

Oh well, love all you fruits almsot equally...

Lotta Jersey trolls too huh? Oh well -- not the most exciting last game, but I could see where the "playoff atmosphere" like game comes in...

Jimbo talking about how we haven't won a lot of Presidents Trophys, and have only 2...

Well our 2 presidents trophys tie us for 2nd with a few other teams... All teams have won either 1 or 2 presidents trophys since 1985-86, however Detroit has won 6...

Ah I knew you'd be surprised!

- evitageN

when I say we only have 2 President's trophy's I am really speaking that we have only had the best record in the league twice, since 41-42 anyway.

when I was a kid Montreal had the best record every year, whether they called it the President's trophy then doesn't matter.

I want best record yo.

Gonna be tough, but 3 games in hand on both Western Conference leaders.

Rangers have only 10 road games remaining, 5 of them will be played in next 6 games.

This is some stretch coming up.

Pens still worry me, come playoff time. Crosby comes back and plays well, that could be scary.

When healthy they are the most dangerous team...don't forget, when Sid is on the ice there seems to be more opponents on the ice than his 4 teammates...

yeah, word yo

word...

if there are no injuries and someone up front needs to be scratched for Kreider to play, my guess would be Fedetenko...., but that's impossible to say with Torts

He loves Fedotenko though...thats why we need an early elimination, get him up here and just throw him in regardless...whether its for Feds or Mitchell...the thing is do you want to see what he has playing on a4th line b/c the third line is killing it now too...

best possible scenario, BC season ends early, Rangers aren't playing for anything in the last week in the Eastern Conference and Kreider gets a couple of games in while some guys gets some rest before playoffs.

In all seriousness though, I would have never guessed coming into this season that the Rangers would be on pace to break the 50 win mark. That is just crazy. The season is flying by, I really need to enjoy these last stretch of games.

In regards to the playoffs, I can give a rats arse who they face. As long as the Rangers stick to their guns and play their system, they will win. My confidence has never been higher for this franchise. Go all out #therightway

Thats exactly what I am hoping for...going to be tough for the kid to crack the top 6 next season...who do you move to make room? Do we become a three lined monster with 3 top lines? and a checking 4th line? Do we roll the four consistently...thats what Torts means when he says they have some growing to do...more about depth and the young guys on their team reaching their offensive potential...still no guarantees but how could you not like where this team is going...

I'd really rather not play Washington again in round 1, but boy is it looking likely.

Has Kreider said he's going to sign after this college season or did Sather say he's going to try to sign him after this college season?

The real trick is playing well heading into the playoffs. If they are, where they finish in the President's Trophy race is almost irrelevant.

21 games to go, Biron probably gets five or six starts you would think. Don't want Lundqvist playing more than 15 of these games.

Kreider hasn't said a damn thing, been all Sather's words

But, considering Sather never says anything, gotta take this pretty seriously

True, but I think Kreider wants to get a degree 1st and he might stay there to get it, unless he takes summer classes.

I think he is on pace to graduate at the end of the year. He took a bunch of classes last summer.

I'd be happy with either one.

It looks like a toss up between Florida, Washington, Winnipeg and maybe Toronto. I wouldn't mind playing any of those teams even Washington, last game between us I thought we played them well and the way Hank is playing we can beat anyone.

I think Brooks column today and Sather's words really give you an indication he is coming here after hockey is over with BC this year.

I doubt classes are an issue if they are talking like this.

Oh yeah that's right, not sure who but someone said he could play with the Whale in the regular season then get called up during the playoffs, I think that's what they should do.

According to Brooks he has accelerated his efforts on his courseload so he can potetially sign or did I read that wrong? He may be a few credits short of graduating but thats something he can probbaly make up during the summer...give the kid credit fo taking his studies seriously, you have to respect that and all that knowing he is going ot get paid handsomely...

Christ, it's not like he can't finish his degree during the offseason. A pro athlete had a small window of time to earn the big bucks. If he doesnt take advantage, then hes a fool. He's already 20. I dont think he's a fool though.

I am not sure if anyone has won an NCAA championship and a Stanley Cup all in the same spring... I know Ken Morrow won an Olympic Gold Medal then a Stanley Cup in the same year which pretty damn good in its own right given how amazing the "Miracle" was...
