He played just about all season with Reasoner and Pandolfo/Wallace, I think once we all realized that he was going to be stuck there nobody really thought that he should be producing. - eichiefs9
I'm looking beyond point production. Ice time, corsi, real-time stats, etc. Just need to give him the ol eye test now. |

Meant to ask this the other day, but can someone explain Katic being "loaned" to B-port? What does that actually mean? Can he not just be sent down like, say, Ness was? Is there a difference between being sent down and loaned? |

Hey just because I call for Snow and Jack and DPs head does not make me an idiot. I did say a few months dont be surprised if the Islanders dont trade Nabby and they try to sign him. I still feel he will be an Islander he realy does not want to leave |

I was wondering if it meant he can stay down there or if there's a time limit to how long he can play in B-port without having to either come back to the NHL or clear waivers. Usually when I hear about a player being "loaned" it's like a conditioning stint after an injury or something and they only get a limited time. |

I cant believe nabby is considering it. I was sure he'd walk. If they sign him it's a good move, providing its only 2 years max. |

I have a hard time seeing him signing with us. Guy is at the end of his career and pretty much has no shot at winning a cup with us, to me it makes no sense? Guess we'll wait and see, thats what us Islander fans do usually with the same results. |

dlawless9..same warning as Mr. Noodles...a lot of the nonsense you will see from there is highly offensive bickering between me and my friends. You've been warned - eichiefs9

Because those d-men will take 3-5 years to be NHL-ready. - isles10289
If I was the GM, I would go for Ryan Murray, they say he is ready...just like Potvin but they say Edmonton wants him...maybe lose the rest of the games and let Edmonton pass us. If he is gone I would trade the pick to Anaheim for Ryan...or to the Kings for Brown... |

Quite a few times actually - Cptmjl
Really, cause Tampa Bay is in 11th place, 2 pts ahead of the isles, and they have the leading goal scorer in the NHL, along with St Louis, Lecavelier. The problem with the lightening has been defense..........the same defense that Vic Hedman is on. For the record, Bruno Gervais has one more goal than Hedman..........just sayin.

a) where do you get 2nd and 3rd round picks from? why arent prospects or first in the equation?? no offers were made (or at least leaked) that we know for a fact was a 2nd or 3rd (or prospect/1st for that matter)
b) even if it is, like you say, a 2nd or 3rd, why cant those be packaged and flipped for something bigger?
c) what happens if pap and/or leave at the end of the year? id MUCH rather have (as im sure you would) "2nd or 3rd rounders" as opposed to "nothing"
id rather have a sure thing (picks/prosects) than a meaningless promise to want to stay - LetsGoIsles
I agree.........PA is going to walk just like Aucoin, Blake, Sutton and every other UFA that was over paid did. There is going to be a team that pays PA 5 shmill a year, instead of the isles 4 shmill offer.........WATCH!! |

so wait, let me get this straight cause im having a bit of trouble with your thinking.... Since JT is a finesse player there cant be any other players on the team that play a finesse style?
We have too much finesse on the team.... but instead of the finesse players that aren't producing squat.. The one that IS, has no future with the team?? How does that work exactly?
XxNYIxX - XxNYIxX
My point is that the islanders are building around Tavares, who IS A FINESSE PLAYER. There cannot just be finesse players on a team. You need a mix. The islanders this season did not have that mix.........they had more of that mix last season.
NOWHERE did i say that you cannot have more than one finesse player. However this teams first line center and cornerstone is JT. I personally dont feel PA is a first liner. So now where does PA fit in? Hes not a 3rd or 4th liner, and the islanders are made up of 2nd liners..........so I felt PA shoulda been traded for a 2nd rounder, and that pick along with this years first shoulda been packaged or a legit NHLer.

Ding, ding, ding, very much agree. He will be gone. Guy will put up more points btn now and the end of the season and Toronto or Carolina will over pay. |
