as soon as you give me a direct quote showing where i said that both pap and nabby "undoubtedly would have brought back first rounders", ill mail you the receipt to show im working on my reading comprehension
- LetsGoIsles

You need reading comp based on what you say I said, not the other way around. Go back to pg. 3 and you'll see why you need reading comp. you say that I said for certain that PAP and Nabby bring back seconds or thirds. I never said that. I said MAYBE those guys would fetch those picks. I never said that Snow was offered that or that they should be moved. That was based on the rest of the deals (or lack thereof) for scorers yesterday and the amount of #1 picks getting moved (or lack thereof).

Well Nino a healthy scratch huh? Hmmm I guess I am fine with that. I mean he is hardly playing now anyway. Is anyone was to complain about playing time it should be him and not Rolston. Thing is he should never have been here in the first place this year and could have given that shot to another young guy to throw on the fourth line and implode his confidence.

Jack changing lines is a scary thought. Pressure on Jack I guess. I mean he has no emotions so I guess he is doing what we have said since the beginning of the year good to see he is finally coaching.

On to other things. The fighting in here is awesome today very entertaining say the least. I love it we are all passionate about the Islanders and I love it. I will say this though I do beleive teams were wary of PA since he has had really one great season. They dont want to over pay for him. That being said Snow was going to do nothing yesterday like he always does. Honeslty other GMs I dont think take him seriously when he calls cause lets face it he knows nothing about being a GM, he is a back up goalie force dinto retirement to be a GM.

Nabbys name has been out on the trade market since Sept. Placed out there by our own organization. They showcased him. They played him when he was struggling. All in an effort to TRADE HIM. It was reported that earlier in the season Snows asking price was a 2nd rd pick. But When Nabby does exactly what management had hoped he'd do. Play well to raise his value. Snow tells the world that he's off the market!!!!!!!!!!! Isles are in effect offering a contract to Nabby and his agent! A contract that came to late. A contract that hasnt been signed. Mixed messages to us. To the GM's of the NHL and to low and behold, Nabby himself. .

I wouldn't even care. If he can't do it here, I don't care what he does elsewhere as long as he's not poisoning this team anymore.

Why did the Isles not just send Nino back to Portland at yesterday's deadline to get some playing time in if they were just going to scratch him the very next day? I'd have to think playoffs in Portland would be better for his development than the press box here.

page 1: PAP was maybe bringing back a second, Nabby possibly a third. There is no reason to believe that either guy was bringing back a first.

yes, the word "maybe" is in your original comment. great. this where reading comprehension kicks in, which i killed on my SATs, "maybe" has a different meaning depending on where you place the word. in the above sentence, you say it to mean "at best"

the point of my comment, and the other poster who got on you for the same exact reason, is that you cant say a 1st WASNT available, so too you cant say a 2nd WASNT available, and you cant say a 3rd WASNT available; MAYBE there was never even an offer, but to say a 1st was available, well none of us were there.

btw, i got the envelope at my desk, please just find me where i said they are undoubtedly getting a 1st for pap/nabby.

Yeah, I think folks have to be patient with Nino. He's not one of those slippery players who can do well in the NHL out of juniors by using speed and shiftiness to avoid contact. As a power forward, his entire game is based on initiating contact in the tough areas of the ice, and he'll probably be better able to do that when he develops physically, which takes time.

It's exactly why power forwards that come into the league at a young age take more time to develop than skill guys like Tavares. He's 19, playing against older, faster, more skilled, stronger men and he's expected to bring a physical element as well as a fair amount of skill. Nobody can teach a guy to be stronger, it's something that comes with age, training, seasoning and conditioning. His skating needs work, he needs to learn when to take the body and when not to, and he needs to mature. None of that is going to come together in one season. It took Tavares 2 full seasons (and 3 off-seasons) before his skating came together.

Who cares about the shot he was given this year. He got a taste of life in the NHL for a little bit. He's still so young that it's not going to be a big deal. As long as he starts in BP next year and earns his way into the line up, no harm, no foul.

He's 19. It's back to juniors or big club for him.

At this point, it might be better to send him back to juniors and just take that year off his ELC...
