Simple fixes:
1- Sign Nabby
2-Sign PA
3-Jettison RDP..hopefully with a buy out exemption withthenew CBA
UFA'S
4- Sign Grossman make a big offer.....probably resign with Flyers
5-Take a SERIOUS run at Gaustead!
6- Make a serious offer to Parise

Trade KO .....though injured at the moment trade KO and Whomever to Calgary for Curtis Glencross
Make sure that a trio of Ness, Katic and DeHaan get a legitimateshot at making the big club.

Easier said than done ....we need to be aggressive and retool this club ...quickly!

- Mike C

What the hell is so special about Gaustead? Just asking.

And while those are 3 nice d-men, we need a little size on the blue line and those 3 are not the answer for that.

Line up for the year ready?

THE SAME NOTHING WILL CHANGE.

WE will have teh same players with a couple of AHL veterans who should have retired about 10 years ago and starting next year Snow and Wang get creative and have a 4 headed monster in goal. Starring the true number one Nabby, with his side kick Poulin, the last one pick for any pick up hockey game DP and for good faith cause they want to hurt anyones feelings the outcast Montoya.

I dont know about you guys but I am excited to see how this plays out next year

He's going to have a hard time selling Long Island to any free agents until he has a building in place for the long-term. The building and the facilities are awful on Long Island. There is also the little problem of the lease expiring in three years and no plan in place to keep the team in the area past the expiration of the lease.

I can understand the attraction to Rangers over Isles. Original six team, in Manhattan, play at MSG, NOT A THREAT TO MOVE TO ANOTHER STATE OR COUNTRY IN THREE YEARS. I think people continue to discount the affect the building has on the recruiting of UFA's. Its beyond how bad the facilities are. Its about the long-term uncertainty.

Think about it: If you're a UFA, your first and maybe only shot at a big pay-day and a long-term contract, you have a wife and kids that are going to be going where you decide to sign. Are you really going to consider the Isles when the team can't promise you that it will still be on Long Island (Brooklyn or Queens) past the 2014-15 season? Are you going to uproot your life and family's life to move to a place that you may have to move away from in three years and be forced to go to a place neither you nor your family wants to live?

I shouldn't have used real life jobs vs. "fantasyland" jobs as an example. 2 totally different forums. Your right!

If you have a problem with your job. Absolutely. Its called being a Man. Who else would you talk to?

I dont know you. And you dont know me. But I dont compromise my beliefs or my ideology.

Either your boss will respect you or he'll be pissed but regardless. Its the right thing to do.

UFA's move all the time. Even the best ones seldom stay put. I don't see this being the reason. Wang has created a poor hockey atmosphere over the team. I don't think that players trust him or any of his worker bees. It SHOULD be one of THE PLACES TO PLAY. I would love to bring my kids up on the Island. I know Sim loved it their. It is beautiful. Fans didn't like Sim, but the place is not the worst place to bring up children.

Its not the money, it is a culture that must be created.

First off, the area is beautiful and just outside of one of the best Cities in the world. I never could understand the attaction to the Rangers and not the Isles. They are next door for christ sake.

Grath do your sales job.

This is what amazed me the most. How the hell can anyone with even the slightest thought of a family prefer to play for Detroit for example over Long Island. Then when u look at where these other teams play. Yeah our Arena is old... but it is in Long island. Not Newark or Manhattan. How can you not sell that to someone. I went to Van Halen last night... on my way in to garden. Step over homeless guy, Get peppered for change, watch drug deal go down, see 2 bums argue over a cardboard box... hand in ticket. Yeah that is much nicer.

I agree 100%. If the team wasn't perceived as a joke and run by a fool, the area would be a major selling point, one that would make LI a desirable destination. But I still think that the lease situation is going to make any player think more than twice about committing long-term to LI, especially if they have a family, regardless of how the team is run.

But its all intertwined. If Wang ran a better ship, the team's performance would have been better and the team would be more profitable. That would have made it a lot harder for Nassau to act indifferently about keeping the team there and building a new arena for them.

Long post, well written and thought out but I respectfully disagree with alot in it. Saying, "he needs to hire an experienced coach" is elementary in my opinion. A ten yr old could have figured that out by now, not insulting you but rather Snow. How many more inexperienced gys do we need to hire? Taking on an AHL coach with limited AHL eperience and a losing record is moronic and careless. Saying he didnt need to do anything bcs the team just wasn't ready I can't agree with at all. You are going to hire some retread to coach your great prospects and hope for the best? No, sorry. Not what I want my team doing. Besides weren't we supposed to be making th playoffs this year? This team has the same problems it had when he took over. Yeah, we have more prospects but calling any of them blue chip is reaching. Saying Snow is doing a good job bcs he drafted in the top five three yrs in a row to me is moronic.
Sitting on your hands and doing nothing besides drafting kids is not a monumental task. A ten yr old can throw darts at a board and hope for the best. Saying he did a good job getting rid of Rolstons and Hunters contract is absurd. He is the one who created those contracts in the first place!!!! Rolston had negative effect on this team for the entire season yet he was put on the PP and was GIVEN important minutes. Snow took on Reasoner, Mottau, Pandalfo, Rolston. Everyone one of these players besides Reasoner was washed up. We all knew and the league did as well. We had to reach the floor? I can hear it now. There are better ways than taking on garbage and going into a season almost knowingly to fail. Saying the "team wasn't ready" is moronic.
Sick of hearing Snow can't get FA's. Guess what thats his job, If he can't than get a GM who can. I see your points even though I don't agree with them but to think this guy is doing a good or even decent job to me is crazy. At work all I have time for now!

- Cptmjl

I agree that not having a coach is his biggest mistake. It is obvious which makes that so frustrating.

The team isnt ready and I didn't think that assessment is moronic. Why trade a young player now or last year ? Where is this team going?

As I said, if we watch him do nothing between now and the start of next year I'll be with you but I think snow has done a good enough job to get that chance

It just seems to be too easy to me, to constantly point to the " Hard to sign here" or the " Rink is old" .. Grath has that as an out, for being a crappy GM.

The (frank)in truth is Wanger, you scare the BeGeezuss out of the palyers in the league. They are not comfortable with what may happen to the club and they are not happy with the way some of the older players have been treated. My take.

Oh I believe you, trust me. Been there many many times myself and have seen the likes of anything possible. I can only stop to wonder what a good old boy from the south thinks to himself when he may see that while visiting or signing with a NY team.

I'm about 8 miles from the city of Greenville and 1 mile from a major shopping area yet there is a small herd of deer that have taken up residence in the woods across the street from my house. Saw 3 of them the other day just off the road in my neighbors yard. I'm amazed at the amount of deer, fox, skunk, racoon and other wild life so close to the suburbs of Greenville. I never get tired of seeing wild life around the neighborhood.
